Geremia 27

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 AL principio del regno di Joachim figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, il Signore parlò a Geremia in tal guisa:	1 (At the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiahfrom Yahweh:)
2 Il Signore adunque mi disse: Fatti delle ritorte, e delle catene; e mettile sul tuo collo.	2 Yahweh said this to me, 'Make yourself thongs and yokes and put them on your neck.
3 E le manderai al re di Edom, e al re di Moab, e al re de' figliuoli di Ammon, e al re di Tiro, e al re di Sidone per mezzo degli ambasciadori, che son venuti a Sedecia re di Giuda in Gerusalemme.	3 Then send them to the king of Edom, the king of Moab, the king of the Ammonites, the king of Tyre,and the king of Sidon, through their envoys accredited to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem.
4 E darai loro incumbenza di dire a' loro padroni: Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: queste cose direte a vostri padroni:	4 Give them the following message for their masters, "Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Youmust tel your masters this:
5 Io creai la terra, e gli uomini, e le bestie, che sono sopra la faccia di lei, colla mia potenza grande, e col mio braccio sublime, e ne ho dato il dominio a chi mi è paruto.	5 I by my great power and outstretched arm made the earth, the human beings and the animals that areon earth, and I give them to whom I please.
6 Io adunque adesso ho dato tutti questi paesi in potere di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia mio servo; e gli ho dato ancora tutte le bestie della campagna, perchè servano a lui.	6 For the present, I have handed al these countries over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, myservant; I have even put the wild animals at his service.
7 E servi di lui saranno tutti questi popoli, e del suo figliuolo, e del figliuolo del suo figlio, fino a tanto che venga il tempo di lui, e del suo regno: e serviranno a lui molte genti, e regi grandi.	7 (Al the nations will serve him, his son and his grandson, until the time for his own country comes in itsturn, when mighty nations and great kings wil enslave him.)
8 E quel popolo, e quel regno, che non servirà a Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, e chiunque non piegherà il collo sotto il giogo del re di Babilonia, io visiterò quel popolo colla spada, colla fame, e colla peste, dice il Signore, fino a tanto che io gli abbia colla mia possanza distrutti.	8 Any nation or kingdom that will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and will not bow its neck tothe yoke of the king of Babylon, I shall punish that nation with sword, famine and plague, Yahweh declares, untilI have destroyed it by his hand.
9 Voi adunque non date retta a' vostri profeti, e indovini, e interpreti de' sogni, e auguri, e maghi, i quali vi dicono: Voi non sarete servi del re di Babilonia.	9 For your own part, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, dreamers, magicians and sorcerers,who tel you: You wil not be enslaved by the king of Babylon.
10 Imperocché profetizzano a voi menzogne, per mandarvi lontano dalla vostra terra, e discacciarvene, e farvi perire.	10 They prophesy lies to you, the result of which wil be that you wil be banished from your soil, that Ishall drive you out, and you will perish.
11 Ma quella nazione, che piegherà il collo al giogo del re di Babilonia, e servirà a lui, io la lascerò nella sua terra, dice il Signore, e la coltiverà, e la abiterà.	11 The nation, however, that is prepared to bend its neck to the yoke of the king of Babylon and servehim, I shal leave in peace on its own soil, Yahweh declares, to farm it and stay on it." '
12 E a Sedecia re di Giuda io annunziai, tutte queste medesime cose, dicendo: Piegate il vostro collo sotto il giogo del re di Babilonia, e siate servi di lui, e del suo popolo, e viverete.	12 To Zedekiah king of Judah I spoke in exactly the same terms. 'Bend your necks', I told him, 'to theyoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people and you wil survive.
13 Per qual motivo morrete, e tu, e il tuo popolo di spada, di fame, e di peste, come ha predetto il Signore alla nazione, che non vorrà servire al re di Babilonia?	13 (Why so anxious to die, you and your people, by sword, famine and plague, with which Yahweh hasthreatened the nation refusing to serve the king of Babylon?)
14 Non date retta alle parole di que' profeti, i quali vi dicono: Voi non sa rete servi del re di Babilonia: imperocché eglino vi dicon bugia.	14 Do not listen to the words the prophets say to you, "You will not be enslaved by the king of Babylon."They prophesy lies to you.
15 Conciossiachè io non li ho mandati, dice il Signore, e profetizzano menzogne nel nome mio, perchè siate discacciati, e andiate in perdizione tanto voi, che i profeti, i quali vi predicono il futuro.	15 Since I have not sent them, Yahweh declares, they prophesy untruths to you in my name. The resultwil be that I shal drive you out, you wil perish, and so wil the prophets who prophesy to you.'
16 E a' sacerdoti, e a questo popolo io parlai, dicendo: Queste cose dice il Signore: Non date retta alle parole de' vostri profeti, i quali profetizzano a voi, dicendo: Ecco che i vasi del Signore torneranno da Babilonia adesso in breve, conciossiachè vi profetizzano menzogne.	16 I also spoke to the priests and to al this people as fol ows, 'Yahweh says this, "Do not listen to thewords of your prophets who prophesy to you as fol ows: Look, the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh wil veryshortly be brought back from Babylon. They prophesy lies to you.
17 Non vogliate adunque ascoltarli, ma servite al re di Babilonia, affin di salvare la vita. Perchè sarà ella renduta un deserto questa città?	17 (Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon and you wil survive. Why should this city become aruin?)
18 Ed eglino se son profeti, e se è in essi la Parola del Signore, s'interpongano presso il Signore degli eserciti, affinchè i vasi, che son rimasi nella casa del Signore, e nella casa del re di Giuda, e in Gerusalemme, non vadano a Babilonia.	18 If they are real prophets, if Yahweh's word is real y with them, they ought now to be pleading withYahweh Sabaoth that the remaining vessels in the Temple of Yahweh, in the palace of the king of Judah andelsewhere in Jerusalem, do not go to Babylon too!
19 Imperocchè queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti intorno alle colonne, al mare (di bronzo), e alle basi, e agli altri vasi, che restarono in questa città,	19 For this is what Yahweh Sabaoth says about (the pil ars, the Sea, the stands and) the other vesselsstill remaining in this city,
20 I quali il re di Babilonia, Nabucodonosor non portò via, quando trasportò da Gerusalemme in Babilonia Jechonia figliuolo di Joachim, re di Giuda, e tutti i magnati di Giuda, e di Gerusalemme.	20 those not carried off by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon when he took Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim,king of Judah, into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon (with al the leading men of Judah and Jerusalem).
21 Or queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele intorno a' vasi, che rimasero nella casa del Signore, e nella casa del re di Giuda, e in Gerusalemme:	21 Yes, this is what Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says about the vessels stil remaining in the Templeof Yahweh, in the palace of the king of Judah and elsewhere in Jerusalem:
22 Saran trasportati a Babilonia, ed ivi staranno sino a tanto, che questa sia visitata, dice il Signore, e io li farò riportare, e restituire a questo luogo.	22 They wil be carried off to Babylon (and stay there until the day I punish them), Yahweh declares.(Then I shal bring them back and restore them to this place.)" '
