Giobbe 32

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Ma quei tre uomini cessarono di rispondere a Giobbe, perchè si riteneva per giusto.	1 These three men stopped arguing with Job, because he was convinced of his uprightness.
2 Senonchè Eliu figlio di Barachel, il Buzita, della famiglia di Ram, s'adirò e si sdegnò; contro Giobbe s'adirò egli, perchè affermava d'essere giusto dinanzi a Dio;	2 But Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became very angry. He fumed with rageagainst Job for thinking that he was right and God was wrong;
3 si sdegnò inoltre contro gli amici di lui, perchè non avevano trovato una risposta ragionevole, ma soltanto avevano dato torto a Giobbe.	3 and he was equal y angry with the three friends for giving up the argument and thus putting God in thewrong.
4 Perciò Eliu aveva aspettato che Giobbe avesse parlato, giacchè coloro che discorrevano erano più anziani;	4 While they and Job were talking, Elihu had waited, because they were older than he was;
5 ma quando vide che i tre non potevano rispondere, s'adirò grandemente.	5 but when he saw that the three men had not another word to say in answer, his anger burst out.
6 Prendendo dunque a parlare Eliu figlio di Barachel, il Buzita, disse: «Più giovane sono io per età, mentre voi siete più vecchi: perciò a capo dimesso avevo timoredi manifestarvi il mio parere.	6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite began to speak. He said: I am stil young, and you are old, so Iwas shy and hesitant to tel you what I know.
7 Poichè speravo che l'età più matura avrebbe parlato, e che i molti anni avrebbero insegnato la sapienza;	7 I thought, 'Age ought to speak, advancing years wil convey wisdom.'
8 ma - a quanto vedo - il soffio [di vita] è negli uomini, ma l'ispirazione dell'Onnipotente dà l'intelligenza;	8 There is, you see, a spirit residing in humanity, the breath of God conferring intelligence.
9 non i longevi [perchè tali] sono sapienti, nè gli anziani intendono il diritto.	9 Great age does not give wisdom, nor seniority fair judgement.
10 Perciò io dico: - Ascoltatemi, vi mostrerò anch'io la mia sapienza! -	10 And so I ask you for a hearing; now it is my turn to tel what I know.
11 Ho infatti aspettato i vostri discorsi, e udito le vostre indagini, mentre discutevate nella disputa;	11 Up to now, I was hanging on your words, I paid attention to your arguments as each of you chose hiswords.
12 e mentre stimavo che avreste detto alcunchè, riflettevo: ma - a quanto vedo - non c'è chi confuti Giobbe e risponda ai suoi discorsi fra voialtri.	12 I paid very close attention; and I see that none of you has confounded Job, not one of you has refutedwhat he says.
13 Non state a dire: - Abbiamo trovato la sapienza -;Dio l'ha rigettato, non un uomo!	13 So do not say, 'We have found wisdom; our teaching is divine and not human.'
14 Con me egli ancora non ha parlato mai, nè io gli risponderò con i vostri discorsi.	14 I am not going to follow the same line of argument; my reply to Job wil be couched in different terms.
15 Costoro sono sgomenti, più non rispondono, si dipartirono da loro le parole.	15 They are nonplussed for an answer, words have failed them.
16 Perchè dunque ho aspettato, ed essi non parlano, se ne ristanno senza più rispondere,	16 I have been waiting. Since they do not speak, since they have given up the argument,
17 risponderò anch'io la mia parte, e mostrerò il mio sapere.	17 now I shal have my say, my turn has come to say what I know.
18 Io infatti di parole sono ripieno, e mi travaglia l'ansimar del mio seno:	18 For I am ful of words and forced to speak by a spirit within me;
19 ecco, il mio seno è come mosto che non ha sfogoe spezza gli otri novelli;	19 within me, it feels like new wine seeking a vent, bursting out of new wine-skins.
20 parlando mi sentirò sollevato, aprirò le mie labbra e risponderò;	20 To gain relief, I must speak, I must open my lips and reply.
21 non porterò riguardo ad alcuno, e non eguaglierò Dio all'uomo:	21 I shall not take anyone's side, I shall not flatter anyone.
22 non so infatti quanto ancora io esisterò, e se di qui a poco il mio Fattore mi toglierà di mezzo.	22 I do not know how to flatter -- or my Creator would make short work of me.
