BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Sì, ecco il Signore, il Signore degli eserciti, toglie a Gerusalemme e a Giuda ogni genere di risorsa, ogni risorsa di pane e ogni risorsa d’acqua,	1 Now the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is about to deprive Jerusalem and Judah of resources and provisions --al reserves of food, al reserves of water-
2 il prode e il guerriero, il giudice e il profeta, l’indovino e l’anziano,	2 of hero, warrior, judge, prophet, diviner, elder,
3 il comandante di cinquanta e il notabile, il consigliere e il mago astuto e l’esperto d’incantesimi.	3 captain, dignitary, counsellor, architect, soothsayer.
4 Io metterò dei ragazzi come loro capi, dei monelli li domineranno.	4 'I shal give them boys for princes, raw lads to rule over them.'
5 Il popolo userà violenza: l’uno contro l’altro, individuo contro individuo; il giovane tratterà con arroganza l’anziano, lo spregevole il nobile.	5 People will be il -treated by one another, each by his neighbour; the young wil insult the aged, and thelow, the respected.
6 Perché uno afferrerà il fratello nella casa del padre: «Tu hai un mantello: sii nostro capo; prendi in mano questa rovina!».	6 Yes, a man wil catch hold of his brother in their father's house, to say, 'You have a cloak, so you beleader, and rule this heap of ruins.'
7 Ma lui si alzerà in quel giorno per dire: «Non sono un guaritore; nella mia casa non c’è pane né mantello. Non ponetemi a capo del popolo!».	7 And, that day, the other wil protest, 'I am no healer; in my house there is neither food nor clothing; donot make me leader of the people.'
8 Certo, Gerusalemme va in rovina e Giuda crolla, perché la loro lingua e le loro opere sono contro il Signore, e offendono lo sguardo della sua maestà.	8 For Jerusalem has col apsed and Judah has fallen, because their words and deeds affront Yahweh andinsult his glorious gaze.
9 La loro parzialità li condanna ed essi ostentano il loro peccato come Sòdoma: non lo nascondono neppure; disgraziati loro, poiché preparano la loro rovina.	9 Their complacency bears witness against them, they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not conceal it,al the worse for them, for they have hatched their own downfal .
10 Beato il giusto, perché avrà bene, mangerà il frutto delle sue opere.	10 Say, 'Blessed the upright, for he will feed on the fruit of his deeds;
11 Guai all’empio, perché avrà male, secondo l’opera delle sue mani sarà ripagato.	11 woe to the wicked, it wil go il with him, for he will be treated as his actions deserve.'
12 Il mio popolo! Un fanciullo lo tiranneggia e delle donne lo dominano. Popolo mio, le tue guide ti traviano, distruggono la strada che tu percorri.	12 O my people, their oppressors pil age them and extortioners rule over them! O my people, your rulersmislead you and efface the paths you ought to fol ow!
13 Il Signore si erge per accusare, egli si presenta per giudicare il suo popolo.	13 Yahweh has risen to accuse, is standing to pass judgement on the people.
14 Il Signore inizia il giudizio con gli anziani e i capi del suo popolo: «Voi avete devastato la vigna; le cose tolte ai poveri sono nelle vostre case.	14 Yahweh is about to try the elders and the princes of his people, 'You are the ones who have ravagedthe vineyard, the spoils of the poor are in your houses.
15 Quale diritto avete di schiacciare il mio popolo, di pestare la faccia ai poveri?». Oracolo del Signore, il Signore degli eserciti.	15 By what right do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.
16 Dice il Signore: «Poiché si sono insuperbite le figlie di Sion, procedono a collo teso, ammiccando con gli occhi, e camminano a piccoli passi, facendo tintinnare gli anelli ai piedi,	16 Yahweh says: Because Zion's daughters are proud and walk with heads held high and enticing eyes --with mincing steps they go, jingling the bangles on their feet-
17 il Signore renderà tignoso il cranio delle figlie di Sion, il Signore denuderà la loro fronte».	17 the Lord will give Zion's daughters scabby heads, Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare.
18 In quel giorno il Signore toglierà l’ornamento di fibbie, fermagli e lunette,	18 That day the Lord wil take away the ornamental chains, medallions, crescents,
19 orecchini, braccialetti, veli,	19 pendants, bracelets, trinkets,
20 bende, catenine ai piedi, cinture, boccette di profumi, amuleti,	20 diadems, ankle-chains, necklaces, scent bottles, amulets,
21 anelli, pendenti al naso,	21 finger-rings, nose-rings,
22 vesti preziose e mantelline, scialli, borsette,	22 party dresses, cloaks, scarves, purses,
23 specchi, tuniche, turbanti e vestaglie.	23 mirrors, linen clothes, turbans and mantillas.
24 Invece di profumo ci sarà marciume, invece di cintura una corda, invece di ricci calvizie, invece di vesti eleganti uno stretto sacco, invece di bellezza bruciatura.	24 Then, instead of perfume, a stink; instead of belt, a rope, instead of hair elaborately dressed, a shavenscalp, instead of gorgeous clothes, sacking round the waist, and brand marks instead of beauty.
25 I tuoi prodi cadranno di spada, i tuoi guerrieri in battaglia.	25 Your men wil fal by the sword, your warriors in battle,
26 Si alzeranno lamenti e gemiti alle sue porte ed essa, disabitata, giacerà a terra.	26 and her gates wil moan and mourn; she wil sit on the ground, deserted.
