Giobbe 19

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Giobbe prese a dire:	1 Job spoke next. He said:
2 «Fino a quando mi tormenterete e mi opprimerete con le vostre parole?	2 How much longer are you going to torment me and crush me by your speeches?
3 Sono dieci volte che mi insultate e mi maltrattate in modo sfacciato.	3 You have insulted me ten times already: have you no shame at maltreating me?
4 È poi vero che io abbia sbagliato e che persista nel mio errore?	4 Even if I had gone astray, my error would still be my own affair.
5 Davvero voi pensate di prevalere su di me, rinfacciandomi la mia vergogna?	5 But, whereas you take this superior attitude and claim that my disgrace is my own fault,
6 Sappiate dunque che Dio mi ha schiacciato e mi ha avvolto nella sua rete.	6 I tel you that God has wronged me and enveloped me in his net.
7 Ecco, grido: “Violenza!”, ma non ho risposta, chiedo aiuto, ma non c’è giustizia!	7 If I protest against such violence, I am not heard, if I appeal against it, judgement is never given.
8 Mi ha sbarrato la strada perché io non passi e sui miei sentieri ha disteso le tenebre.	8 He has built an impassable wal across my path and covered my way with darkness.
9 Mi ha spogliato della mia gloria e mi ha tolto dal capo la corona.	9 He has deprived me of my glory and taken the crown from my head.
10 Mi ha distrutto da ogni parte e io sparisco, ha strappato, come un albero, la mia speranza.	10 He assails me from al directions to make me vanish; he uproots my hope as he might a tree.
11 Ha acceso contro di me la sua ira e mi considera come suo nemico.	11 Inflamed with anger against me, he regards me as his foe.
12 Insieme sono accorse le sue schiere e si sono tracciate la strada contro di me; si sono accampate intorno alla mia tenda.	12 His troops have come in force, directing their line of advance towards me, they are now encampedround my tent.
13 I miei fratelli si sono allontanati da me, persino i miei familiari mi sono diventati estranei.	13 He has alienated my brothers from me, my relatives take care to avoid me,
14 Sono scomparsi vicini e conoscenti, mi hanno dimenticato	14 my intimate friends have gone away and the guests in my house have forgotten me.
15 gli ospiti di casa; da estraneo mi trattano le mie ancelle, sono un forestiero ai loro occhi.	15 My slave-girls regard me as an intruder, a stranger as far as they are concerned.
16 Chiamo il mio servo ed egli non risponde, devo supplicarlo con la mia bocca.	16 My servant does not answer when I cal him, I am obliged to beg favours from him!
17 Il mio fiato è ripugnante per mia moglie e faccio ribrezzo ai figli del mio grembo.	17 My breath is unbearable to my wife, my stench to my own brothers.
18 Anche i ragazzi mi disprezzano: se tento di alzarmi, mi coprono di insulti.	18 Even the children look down on me, whenever I stand up, they start jeering at me.
19 Mi hanno in orrore tutti i miei confidenti: quelli che amavo si rivoltano contro di me.	19 All my dearest friends recoil from me in horror: those I loved best have turned against me.
20 Alla pelle si attaccano le mie ossa e non mi resta che la pelle dei miei denti.	20 My flesh is rotting under my skin, my bones are sticking out like teeth.
21 Pietà, pietà di me, almeno voi, amici miei, perché la mano di Dio mi ha percosso!	21 Pity me, pity me, my friends, since I have been struck by the hand of God.
22 Perché vi accanite contro di me, come Dio, e non siete mai sazi della mia carne?	22 Must you persecute me just as God does, and give my body no peace?
23 Oh, se le mie parole si scrivessero, se si fissassero in un libro,	23 Will no one let my words be recorded, inscribed on some monument
24 fossero impresse con stilo di ferro e con piombo, per sempre s’incidessero sulla roccia!	24 with iron chisel and engraving tool, cut into the rock for ever?
25 Io so che il mio redentore è vivo e che, ultimo, si ergerà sulla polvere!	25 I know that I have a living Defender and that he wil rise up last, on the dust of the earth.
26 Dopo che questa mia pelle sarà strappata via, senza la mia carne, vedrò Dio.	26 After my awakening, he wil set me close to him, and from my flesh I shall look on God.
27 Io lo vedrò, io stesso, i miei occhi lo contempleranno e non un altro. Languisco dentro di me.	27 He whom I shal see wil take my part: my eyes will be gazing on no stranger. My heart sinks withinme.
28 Voi che dite: “Come lo perseguitiamo noi, se la radice del suo danno è in lui?”,	28 When you say, 'How can we confound him? What pretext can we discover against him?'
29 temete per voi la spada, perché è la spada che punisce l’iniquità, e saprete che c’è un giudice».	29 You yourselves had best beware the sword, since the wrath bursts into flame at wicked deeds andthen you wil learn that there is indeed a judgement!
