¹ 'Di Davide, quando si finse pazzo in presenza di Abimelech e, da lui scacciato, se ne andò.'	¹ A Psalm of David, when he feigned madness before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
² Alef. Benedirò il Signore in ogni tempo, sulla mia bocca sempre la sua lode.	² My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and be glad.
³ Bet. Io mi glorio nel Signore, ascoltino gli umili e si rallegrino.	³ O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
⁴ Ghimel. Celebrate con me il Signore, esaltiamo insieme il suo nome.	⁴ I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
⁵ Dalet. Ho cercato il Signore e mi ha risposto e da ogni timore mi ha liberato.	⁵ Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed.
⁶ He. Guardate a lui e sarete raggianti, non saranno confusi i vostri volti.	⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
⁷ Zain. Questo povero grida e il Signore lo ascolta, lo libera da tutte le sue angosce.	⁷ The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
⁸ Het. L'angelo del Signore si accampa attorno a quelli che lo temono e li salva.	⁸ O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!
⁹ Tet. Gustate e vedete quanto è buono il Signore; beato l'uomo che in lui si rifugia.	⁹ O fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no want!
¹⁰ Iod. Temete il Signore, suoi santi, nulla manca a coloro che lo temono.	¹⁰ The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
¹¹ Caf. I ricchi impoveriscono e hanno fame, ma chi cerca il Signore non manca di nulla.	¹¹ Come, O sons, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
¹² Lamed. Venite, figli, ascoltatemi; v'insegnerò il timore del Signore.	¹² What man is there who desires life, and covets many days, that he may enjoy good?
¹³ Mem. C'è qualcuno che desidera la vita e brama lunghi giorni per gustare il bene?	¹³ Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.
¹⁴ Nun. Preserva la lingua dal male, le labbra da parole bugiarde.	¹⁴ Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
¹⁵ Samech. Sta' lontano dal male e fa' il bene, cerca la pace e perseguila.	¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry.
¹⁶ Ain. Gli occhi del Signore sui giusti, i suoi orecchi al loro grido di aiuto.	¹⁶ The face of the LORD is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
¹⁷ Pe. Il volto del Signore contro i malfattori, per cancellarne dalla terra il ricordo.	¹⁷ When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
¹⁸ Sade. Gridano e il Signore li ascolta, li salva da tutte le loro angosce.	¹⁸ The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.
¹⁹ Kof. Il Signore è vicino a chi ha il cuore ferito, egli salva gli spiriti affranti.	¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
²⁰ Res. Molte sono le sventure del giusto, ma lo libera da tutte il Signore.	²⁰ He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.
²¹ Sin. Preserva tutte le sue ossa, neppure uno sarà spezzato.	²¹ Evil shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
²² Tau. La malizia uccide l'empio e chi odia il giusto sarà punito.	²² The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
²³ Il Signore riscatta la vita dei suoi servi, chi in lui si rifugia non sarà condannato.
