BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Prese allora la parola Sofar di Naama, e disse:	1 Zophar of Naamath spoke next. He said:
2 « Per questo i miei pensieri si inseguono e la mia mente va dietro a molti.	2 My thoughts urge me to reply to this, and hence the impatience that grips me.
3 Starò a sentire la dottrina colla quale mi accusi e lo spirito della mia intelligenza mi suggerirà le risposte.	3 I have put up with prating that outrages me and now my mind inspires me with an answer.
4 Io so questo: che fin da principio, fin da quando l'uomo fu posto sulla terra,	4 Do you not know, that since time began and human beings were set on the earth,
5 il trionfo degli empi è breve, e la gioia dell'ipocrita è d'un istante.	5 the triumph of the wicked has always been brief, and the sinner's gladness has never lasted long?

18 Pagherà il fio di quanto ha fatto senza però essere consumato. Dovrà soffrire in proporzione delle sue macchinazioni,	18 When he gives back his winnings, his cheerfulness wil fade, and the satisfied air he had whenbusiness was thriving.
19 perchè oppresse e spogliò i poveri, rapì la casa non edificata da lui.	19 Since he once destroyed the huts of the poor, plundering houses instead of building them up,
20 Il suo ventre non fu saziato, e quando avrà tutto quello che bramava, non potrà possederlo.	20 since his avarice could never be satisfied, now al his hoarding will not save him;
21 Nulla avanzò del suo cibo; nulla resterà dei suoi beni.	21 since nothing could escape his greed, his prosperity wil not last.
22 Quando sarà satollo si troverà nelle strettezze, smanierà, e tutti i dolori piomberanno sopra di lui.	22 When he has everything he needs, want wil seize him, and misery wil light on him with all its force.
23 Che sia riempito il suo ventre, affinchè Dio scagli sopra di lui le collere del suo furore e piova sopra di lui i suoi fulmini!	23 On him God looses al his burning wrath, hurling against his flesh a hail of arrows.
24 Fuggirà le armi di ferro, e sarà trapassato dall'arco di rame.	24 If he escapes the weapons of iron, the bow of bronze wil transfix him.
25 Tratto e cavato dal fodero, scintilla come folgore nella sua amarezza; vanno e vengono sopra di lui orribili (spettri).	25 Out of his back sticks an arrow, from his gal a shining point. The terrors advance on him,
26 Tutte le tenebre son nascoste nei suoi segreti; un fuoco non acceso (dall'uomo) lo divorerà; giacerà afflitto e abbandonato nella sua tenda.	26 all the hidden darknesses are waiting to carry him off. A fire unlit by human hand devours him, andconsumes what is left in his tent.
27 I cieli riveleranno la sua iniquità, la terra insorgerà contro di lui.	27 The heavens lay bare his iniquity, and the earth rises up against him.
28 I rampolli della sua casa saranno esposti, spariranno nel giorno del furore di Dio.	28 The income of his house pours away, like the torrents, on the day of retribution.
29 Questa è la sorte da Dio riserbata all'empio, l'eredità riserbata alle sue azioni dal Signore ».	29 Such is the fate God reserves for the wicked, the inheritance he assigns to the accursed!
