1 'Salmo. Di Asaf.' Quanto è buono Dio con i giusti, con gli uomini dal cuore puro!	1 [Psalm Of Asaph] Indeed God is good to Israel, the Lord to those who are pure of heart.
2 Per poco non inciampavano i miei piedi, per un nulla vacillavano i miei passi,	2 My feet were on the point of stumbling, a little more and I had slipped,
3 perché ho invidiato i prepotenti, vedendo la prosperità dei malvagi.	3 envying the arrogant as I did, and seeing the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Non c'è sofferenza per essi, sano e pasciuto è il loro corpo.	4 For them no such thing as pain, untroubled, their comfortable portliness;
5 Non conoscono l'affanno dei mortali e non sono colpiti come gli altri uomini.	5 exempt from the cares which are the human lot, they have no part in Adam's afflictions.
6 Dell'orgoglio si fanno una collana e la violenza è il loro vestito.	6 So pride is a necklace to them, violence the garment they wear.
7 Esce l'iniquità dal loro grasso, dal loro cuore traboccano pensieri malvagi.	7 From their fat oozes out malice, their hearts drip with cunning.
8 Scherniscono e parlano con malizia, minacciano dall'alto con prepotenza.	8 Cynical y they advocate evil, loftily they advocate force.
9 Levano la loro bocca fino al cielo e la loro lingua percorre la terra.	9 Their mouth claims heaven for themselves, and their tongue is never stil on earth.
10 Perciò seggono in alto, non li raggiunge la piena delle acque.	10 That is why my people turn to them, and enjoy the waters of plenty,
11 Dicono: "Come può saperlo Dio? C'è forse conoscenza nell'Altissimo?".	11 saying, 'How can God know? What knowledge can the Most High have?'
12 Ecco, questi sono gli empi: sempre tranquilli, ammassano ricchezze.	12 That is what the wicked are like, piling up wealth without any worries.
13 Invano dunque ho conservato puro il mio cuore e ho lavato nell'innocenza le mie mani,	13 Was it useless, then, to have kept my own heart clean, to have washed my hands in innocence?
14 poiché sono colpito tutto il giorno, e la mia pena si rinnova ogni mattina.	14 When I was under a hail of blows al day long, and punished every morning,
15 Se avessi detto: "Parlerò come loro", avrei tradito la generazione dei tuoi figli.	15 had I said, 'I shal talk like them,' I should have betrayed your children's race.
16 Riflettevo per comprendere: ma fu arduo agli occhi miei,	16 So I set myself to understand this: how difficult I found it!
17 finché non entrai nel santuario di Dio e compresi qual è la loro fine.	17 Until I went into the sanctuaries of the gods and understood what was destined to become of them.
18 Ecco, li poni in luoghi scivolosi, li fai precipitare in rovina.	18 You place them on a slippery slope and drive them down into chaos.
19 Come sono distrutti in un istante, sono finiti, periscono di spavento!	19 How sudden their hideous destruction! They are swept away, annihilated by terror!
20 Come un sogno al risveglio, Signore, quando sorgi, fai svanire la loro immagine.	20 Like a dream upon waking, Lord, when you awake, you dismiss their image.
21 Quando si agitava il mio cuore e nell'intimo mi tormentavo,	21 My heart grew embittered, my affections dried up,
22 io ero stolto e non capivo, davanti a te stavo come una bestia.	22 I was stupid and uncomprehending, a clumsy animal in your presence.
23 Ma io sono con te sempre: tu mi hai preso per la mano destra.	23 Even so, I stayed in your presence, you grasped me by the right hand;
24 Mi guiderai con il tuo consiglio e poi mi accoglierai nella tua gloria.	24 you will guide me with advice, and wil draw me in the wake of your glory.
25 Chi altri avrò per me in cielo? Fuori di te nulla bramo sulla terra.	25 Who else is there for me in heaven? And, with you, I lack nothing on earth.
26 Vengono meno la mia carne e il mio cuore; ma la roccia del mio cuore è Dio, è Dio la mia sorte per sempre.	26 My heart and my flesh are pining away: my heart's rock, my portion, God for ever!
27 Ecco, perirà chi da te si allontana, tu distruggi chiunque ti è infedele.	27 Truly, those who abandon you will perish; you destroy those who adulterously desert you,
28 Il mio bene è stare vicino a Dio: nel Signore Dio ho posto il mio rifugio, per narrare tutte le tue opere presso le porte della città di Sion.	28 whereas my happiness is to be near God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, to tel of al yourworks.
