Psalmi 127

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canticum graduum. Beati omnes qui timent Dominum, qui ambulant in viis ejus.	1 [Song of Ascents Of Solomon] If Yahweh does not build a house in vain do its builders toil. If Yahwehdoes not guard a city in vain does its guard keep watch.
2 Labores manuum tuarum quia manducabis : beatus es, et bene tibi erit.	2 In vain you get up earlier, and put off going to bed, sweating to make a living, since it is he whoprovides for his beloved as they sleep.
3 Uxor tua sicut vitis abundans in lateribus domus tuæ ; filii tui sicut novellæ olivarum in circuitu mensæ tuæ.	3 Sons are a birthright from Yahweh, children are a reward from him.
4 Ecce sic benedicetur homo qui timet Dominum.	4 Like arrows in a warrior's hand are the sons you father when young.
5 Benedicat tibi Dominus ex Sion, et videas bona Jerusalem omnibus diebus vitæ tuæ.	5 How blessed is the man who has fil ed his quiver with them; in dispute with his enemies at the citygate he wil not be worsted.
6 Et videas filios filiorum tuorum : pacem super Israël.
