1 'Al maestro del coro. Per strumenti a corda. Maskil.' 'Di Davide.'	1 [For the choirmaster For strings Poem Of David] God, hear my prayer, do not hide away from my plea,
2 Porgi l'orecchio, Dio, alla mia preghiera, non respingere la mia supplica;	2 give me a hearing, answer me, my troubles give me no peace. I shudder
3 dammi ascolto e rispondimi, mi agito nel mio lamento e sono sconvolto	3 at the enemy's shouts, at the outcry of the wicked; they heap up charges against me, in their angerbring hostile accusations against me.
4 al grido del nemico, al clamore dell'empio. Contro di me riversano sventura, mi perseguitano con furore.	4 My heart writhes within me, the terrors of death come upon me,

19 mi salva, mi dà pace da coloro che mi combattono: sono tanti i miei avversari.	19 But God wil listen and wil humble them, he who has been enthroned from the beginning; no changeof heart for them, for they do not fear God.
20 Dio mi ascolta e li umilia, egli che domina da sempre. Per essi non c'è conversione e non temono Dio.	20 They attack those at peace with them, going back on their oaths;

22 Più untuosa del burro è la sua bocca, ma nel cuore ha la guerra; più fluide dell'olio le sue parole, ma sono spade sguainate.	22 Unload your burden onto Yahweh and he wil sustain you; never wil he allow the upright to stumble.
23 Getta sul Signore il tuo affanno ed egli ti darà sostegno, mai permetterà che il giusto vacilli.	23 You, God, wil thrust them down to the abyss of destruction, men bloodthirsty and deceptive, beforehalf their days are spent. For my part, I put my trust in you.
24 Tu, Dio, li sprofonderai nella tomba gli uomini sanguinari e fraudolenti: essi non giungeranno alla metà dei loro giorni. Ma io, Signore, in te confido.
