1 'Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.'	1 [For the choirmaster Of David When the prophet Nathan had come to him because he had gone toBathsheba] Have mercy on me, O God, in your faithful love, in your great tenderness wipe away my offences;
2 'Quando venne da lui il profeta Natan dopo che aveva peccato con Betsabea.'	2 wash me clean from my guilt, purify me from my sin.
3 Pietà di me, o Dio, secondo la tua misericordia; nella tua grande bontà cancella il mio peccato.	3 For I am wel aware of my offences, my sin is constantly in mind.
4 Lavami da tutte le mie colpe, mondami dal mio peccato.	4 Against you, you alone, I have sinned, I have done what you see to be wrong, that you may show yoursaving justice when you pass sentence, and your victory may appear when you give judgement,
5 Riconosco la mia colpa, il mio peccato mi sta sempre dinanzi.	5 remember, I was born guilty, a sinner from the moment of conception.
6 Contro di te, contro te solo ho peccato, quello che è male ai tuoi occhi, io l'ho fatto; perciò sei giusto quando parli, retto nel tuo giudizio.	6 But you delight in sincerity of heart, and in secret you teach me wisdom.
7 Ecco, nella colpa sono stato generato, nel peccato mi ha concepito mia madre.	7 Purify me with hyssop till I am clean, wash me til I am whiter than snow.
8 Ma tu vuoi la sincerità del cuore e nell'intimo m'insegni la sapienza.	8 Let me hear the sound of joy and gladness, and the bones you have crushed wil dance.
9 Purificami con issopo e sarò mondo; lavami e sarò più bianco della neve.	9 Turn away your face from my sins, and wipe away al my guilt.
10 Fammi sentire gioia e letizia, esulteranno le ossa che hai spezzato.	10 God, create in me a clean heart, renew within me a resolute spirit,
11 Distogli lo sguardo dai miei peccati, cancella tutte le mie colpe.	11 do not thrust me away from your presence, do not take away from me your spirit of holiness.
12 Crea in me, o Dio, un cuore puro, rinnova in me uno spirito saldo.	12 Give me back the joy of your salvation, sustain in me a generous spirit.
13 Non respingermi dalla tua presenza e non privarmi del tuo santo spirito.	13 I shal teach the wicked your paths, and sinners will return to you.
14 Rendimi la gioia di essere salvato, sostieni in me un animo generoso.	14 Deliver me from bloodshed, God, God of my salvation, and my tongue wil acclaim your savingjustice.
15 Insegnerò agli erranti le tue vie e i peccatori a te ritorneranno.	15 Lord, open my lips, and my mouth wil speak out your praise.
16 Liberami dal sangue, Dio, Dio mia salvezza, la mia lingua esalterà la tua giustizia.	16 Sacrifice gives you no pleasure, burnt offering you do not desire.
17 Signore, apri le mie labbra e la mia bocca proclami la tua lode;	17 Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken, contrite heart you never scorn.
18 poiché non gradisci il sacrificio e, se offro olocausti, non li accetti.	18 In your graciousness do good to Zion, rebuild the wal s of Jerusalem.
19 Uno spirito contrito è sacrificio a Dio, un cuore affranto e umiliato, Dio, tu non disprezzi.	19 Then you wil delight in upright sacrifices,-burnt offerings and whole oblations -- and young bul s will be offered on your altar.
20 Nel tuo amore fa grazia a Sion, rialza le mura di Gerusalemme.
21 Allora gradirai i sacrifici prescritti, l'olocausto e l'intera oblazione, allora immoleranno vittime sopra il tuo altare.
