1 'Di Davide.' Benedici il Signore, anima mia, quanto è in me benedica il suo santo nome.	1 Of David. Bless the LORD, my soul; all my being, bless his holy name!
2 Benedici il Signore, anima mia, non dimenticare tanti suoi benefici.	2 Bless the LORD, my soul; do not forget all the gifts of God,
3 Egli perdona tutte le tue colpe, guarisce tutte le tue malattie;	3 Who pardons all your sins, heals all your ills,
4 salva dalla fossa la tua vita, ti corona di grazia e di misericordia;	4 Delivers your life from the pit, surrounds you with love and compassion,
5 egli sazia di beni i tuoi giorni e tu rinnovi come aquila la tua giovinezza.	5 Fills your days with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 Il Signore agisce con giustizia e con diritto verso tutti gli oppressi.	6 The LORD does righteous deeds, brings justice to all the oppressed.
7 Ha rivelato a Mosè le sue vie, ai figli d'Israele le sue opere.	7 His ways were revealed to Moses, mighty deeds to the people of Israel.
8 Buono e pietoso è il Signore, lento all'ira e grande nell'amore.	8 Merciful and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, abounding in kindness.
9 Egli non continua a contestare e non conserva per sempre il suo sdegno.	9 God does not always rebuke, nurses no lasting anger,
10 Non ci tratta secondo i nostri peccati, non ci ripaga secondo le nostre colpe.	10 Has not dealt with us as our sins merit, nor requited us as our deeds deserve.
11 Come il cielo è alto sulla terra, così è grande la sua misericordia su quanti lo temono;	11 As the heavens tower over the earth, so God's love towers over the faithful.
12 come dista l'oriente dall'occidente, così allontana da noi le nostre colpe.	12 As far as the east is from the west, so far have our sins been removed from us.
13 Come un padre ha pietà dei suoi figli, così il Signore ha pietà di quanti lo temono.	13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on the faithful.
14 Perché egli sa di che siamo plasmati, ricorda che noi siamo polvere.	14 For he knows how we are formed, remembers that we are dust.
15 Come l'erba sono i giorni dell'uomo, come il fiore del campo, così egli fiorisce.	15 Our days are like the grass; like flowers of the field we blossom.
16 Lo investe il vento e più non esiste e il suo posto non lo riconosce.	16 The wind sweeps over us and we are gone; our place knows us no more.
17 Ma la grazia del Signore è da sempre, dura in eterno per quanti lo temono; la sua giustizia per i figli dei figli,	17 But the LORD'S kindness is forever, toward the faithful from age to age. He favors the children's children
18 per quanti custodiscono la sua alleanza e ricordano di osservare i suoi precetti.	18 of those who keep his covenant, who take care to fulfill its precepts.
19 Il Signore ha stabilito nel cielo il suo trono e il suo regno abbraccia l'universo.	19 The LORD'S throne is established in heaven; God's royal power rules over all.
20 Benedite il Signore, voi tutti suoi angeli, potenti esecutori dei suoi comandi, pronti alla voce della sua parola.	20 Bless the LORD, all you angels, mighty in strength and attentive, obedient to every command.
21 Benedite il Signore, voi tutte, sue schiere, suoi ministri, che fate il suo volere.	21 Bless the LORD, all you hosts, ministers who do God's will.
22 Benedite il Signore, voi tutte opere sue, in ogni luogo del suo dominio. Benedici il Signore, anima mia.	22 Bless the LORD, all creatures, everywhere in God's domain. Bless the LORD, my soul!
