Psalmi 97

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Psalmus ipsi David. Cantate Domino canticum novum, quia mirabilia fecit. Salvavit sibi dextera ejus, et brachium sanctum ejus.	1 Yahweh is king! Let earth rejoice, the many isles be glad!
2 Notum fecit Dominus salutare suum ; in conspectu gentium revelavit justitiam suam.	2 Cloud, black cloud enfolds him, saving justice and judgement the foundations of his throne.
3 Recordatus est misericordiæ suæ, et veritatis suæ domui Israël. Viderunt omnes termini terræ salutare Dei nostri.	3 Fire goes before him, sets ablaze his enemies al around;
4 Jubilate Deo, omnis terra ; cantate, et exsultate, et psallite.	4 his lightning-flashes light up the world, the earth sees it and quakes.
5 Psallite Domino in cithara ; in cithara et voce psalmi ;	5 The mountains melt like wax, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 in tubis ductilibus, et voce tubæ corneæ. Jubilate in conspectu regis Domini :	6 The heavens proclaim his saving justice, all nations see his glory.
7 moveatur mare, et plenitudo ejus ; orbis terrarum, et qui habitant in eo.	7 Shame on all who serve images, who pride themselves on their idols; bow down to him, al you gods!
8 Flumina plaudent manu ; simul montes exsultabunt	8 Zion hears and is glad, the daughters of Judah exult, because of your judgements, Yahweh.
9 a conspectu Domini : quoniam venit judicare terram. Judicabit orbem terrarum in justitia, et populos in æquitate.	9 For you are Yahweh, Most High over al the earth, far transcending al gods.
	10 Yahweh loves those who hate evil, he keeps safe his faithful, rescues them from the clutches of thewicked.
	11 Light dawns for the upright, and joy for honest hearts.
	12 Rejoice in Yahweh, you who are upright, praise his unforgettable holiness.
