Giobbe 32

1 Or non avendo quei tre uomini risposto a Giobbe che si credeva giusto,	1 But these three men ceased to answer Job, because he considered himself justified.
2 si adirò e si sdegnò Eliu figlio di Barachel Buzita, della stirpe di Ram. Si adirò contro Giobbe, chè si diceva giusto dinanzi a Dio;	2 And Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was angry and indignant. But he was angry against Job because he described himself to be just in the presence of God.
3 si adirò pure contro gli amici di lui, perchè non avevan saputo trovare una risposta da accettarsi, ma s'eran limitati a condannare Giobbe.	3 Moreover, he was indignant with his friends because they had not found a reasonable response, except in so far as they condemned Job.
4 Eliu adunque aspettò che Giobbe avesse parlato, perchè quelli che parlavano erano più vecchi.	4 Therefore, Eliu waited while Job was talking, for these were his elders that were speaking.
5 Ma quando vide che i tre non eran capaci di replicare, si adirò fortemente.	5 But when he saw that these three were not able to respond, he was extremely angry.
6 Poi Eliu figlio di Bara chel Buzita prese la parola, e disse: « Io son giovane d'anni e voi già canuti, per questo sono stato a capo basso e non ho ardito di esporvi il mio parere.	6 And so Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite responded by saying: I am younger in years, and you are more ancient; therefore, I kept my head low, for I was afraid to reveal to you my opinion.
7 Speravo infatti che parlasse l'età longeva, e che il gran numero degli anni insegnasse la sapienza;	7 For I had hoped that greater age would speak, and that a multitude of years would teach wisdom.
8 ma vedo bene che lo Spirito è negli uomini e l'ispirazione dell'onnipotente dà l'intelligenza.	8 But I see now that there is only breath in men, and that it is the inspiration of the Almighty that gives understanding.
9 Non i longevi sono sapienti, nè sempre i vecchi han retto discernimento.	9 The wise are not the aged, nor do the elders understand judgment.
10 Per questo ardisco dire: Ascoltatemi: vi mostrerò anch'io la mia sapienza.	10 Therefore, I will speak. Listen to me, and so I will show you my wisdom.
11 Ecco, io sono stato attento ai vostri discorsi, a sentire la vostra prudenza, finché discutevate con ragionamenti.	11 For I have endured your words; I have paid attention to your deliberations, while you were being argumentative with words.
12 Finché credevo che diceste qualche cosa, stavo attento, ma, come vedo, nessuno di voi può convincer Giobbe, e non può rispondere alle sue parole.	12 And as long as I supposed that you were saying something, I considered; but now I see that there is none of you that is able to argue with Job and to respond to his words.
13 E non state a dire: Noi abbiamo trovato la sapienza; Dio l'ha confutato, e non l'uomo.	13 So that you will not say, “We have found wisdom,” God has thrown him down, not man.
14 Egli non mi ha detto nulla, ed io non gli risponderò coi vostri ragionamenti.	14 He has said nothing to me, and I will not respond to him according to your words.
15 Si sono spaventati, non han saputo che rispondere, da se stessi si son tolta la parola.	15 Then they were filled with dread, and so they no longer responded, and they withdrew from their speechmaking.
16 Giacché ho aspettato ed essi non parlano, e se ne stanno senza fiatare,	16 Therefore, because I have waited and they have not been speaking, for they stood firm and did not respond at all,
17 parlerò anch'io la mia parte, e mostrerò la mia scienza;	17 I also will answer in my turn, and I will reveal my knowledge.
18 perchè mi sento pieno di cose da dire, e lo spirito che porto in seno mi costringe.	18 For I am full of words, and the feeling in my gut inspires me.
19 Ecco il mio seno è come vin nuovo senza spiraglio, che rompe gli otri nuovi.	19 Yes, my stomach is like fermenting wine without a vent, which bursts the new containers.
20 Parlerò per respirare un poco; aprirò le mie labbra per rispondere.	20 I should speak, but I will also breathe a little; I will open my lips, and I will answer.
21 Non sarò acce ttatore di persone, e non uguaglierò Dio all'uomo;	21 I will not esteem the reputation of a man, and I will not equate God with man.
22 perchè io non so quanto durerò ancora, e se fra poco mi toglierà dal mondo il mio Creatore ».	22 For I do not know how long I will continue, and whether, after a while, my Maker might take me away.
