Isaia 66

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Così dice il Signore: «Il cielo è il mio trono, la terra lo sgabello dei miei piedi. Quale casa mi potreste costruire? In quale luogo potrei fissare la dimora?	1 Thus says Yahweh: With heaven my throne and earth my footstool, what house could you build me,what place for me to rest,
2 Tutte queste cose ha fatto la mia mano ed esse sono mie – oracolo del Signore. Su chi volgerò lo sguardo? Sull’umile e su chi ha lo spirito contrito e su chi trema alla mia parola.	2 when al these things were made by me and al belong to me? - declares Yahweh. But my eyes aredrawn to the person of humbled and contrite spirit, who trembles at my word.
3 Uno sacrifica un giovenco e poi uccide un uomo, uno immola una pecora e poi strozza un cane, uno presenta un’offerta e poi sangue di porco, uno brucia incenso e poi venera l’iniquità. Costoro hanno scelto le loro vie, essi si dilettano dei loro abomini;	3 Some slaughter a bul , some kill a human being, some sacrifice a lamb, some strangle a dog, somepresent an offering of pig's blood, some burn memorial incense, a revolting blessing; al these people havechosen their own ways and take delight in their disgusting practices.
4 anch’io sceglierò la loro sventura e farò piombare su di loro ciò che temono, perché io avevo chiamato e nessuno ha risposto, avevo parlato e nessuno ha udito. Hanno fatto ciò che è male ai miei occhi, ciò che non gradisco hanno scelto».	4 I too take delight in making fools of them, I shal bring what they most fear down on them because Ihave called and no one would answer, I spoke and no one listened. They have done what I regard as evil, havechosen what displeases me.
5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola. Hanno detto i vostri fratelli che vi odiano, che vi respingono a causa del mio nome: «Mostri il Signore la sua gloria, perché possiamo vedere la vostra gioia!». Ma essi saranno confusi.	5 Listen to the word of Yahweh, you who tremble at his word. Your brothers, who hate and reject youbecause of my name, have said, 'Let Yahweh show his glory, let us witness your joy!' But they will be put toshame.
6 Giunge un rumore, un frastuono dalla città, un rumore dal tempio: è la voce del Signore, che dà la ricompensa ai suoi nemici.	6 Listen! An uproar from the city! A voice from the Temple! The voice of Yahweh bringing retribution onhis enemies.
7 Prima di provare i dolori, ha partorito; prima che le venissero i dolori, ha dato alla luce un maschio.	7 Before being in labour she has given birth. Before the birth pangs came, she has been delivered of achild.
8 Chi ha mai udito una cosa simile, chi ha visto cose come queste? Nasce forse una terra in un giorno, una nazione è generata forse in un istante? Eppure Sion, appena sentiti i dolori, ha partorito i figli.	8 Who ever heard of such a thing, who ever saw anything like this? Can a country be born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth al at once? For Zion, scarcely in labour, has brought forth her children!
9 «Io che apro il grembo materno, non farò partorire?», dice il Signore. «Io che faccio generare, chiuderei il seno?», dice il tuo Dio.	9 Shal I open the womb and not bring to birth? says Yahweh. Shall I, who bring to birth, close the womb?says your God.
10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, esultate per essa tutti voi che l’amate. Sfavillate con essa di gioia tutti voi che per essa eravate in lutto.	10 Rejoice with Jerusalem, be glad for her, al you who love her! Rejoice, rejoice with her, al you whomourned her!
11 Così sarete allattati e vi sazierete al seno delle sue consolazioni; succhierete e vi delizierete al petto della sua gloria.	11 So that you may be suckled and satisfied from her consoling breast, so that you may drink deep withdelight from her generous nipple.
12 Perché così dice il Signore: «Ecco, io farò scorrere verso di essa, come un fiume, la pace; come un torrente in piena, la gloria delle genti. Voi sarete allattati e portati in braccio, e sulle ginocchia sarete accarezzati.	12 For Yahweh says this: Look, I am going to send peace flowing over her like a river, and like a streamin spate the glory of the nations. You wil be suckled, carried on her hip and fondled in her lap.
13 Come una madre consola un figlio, così io vi consolerò; a Gerusalemme sarete consolati.	13 As a mother comforts a child, so I shal comfort you; you wil be comforted in Jerusalem.
14 Voi lo vedrete e gioirà il vostro cuore, le vostre ossa saranno rigogliose come l’erba. La mano del Signore si farà conoscere ai suoi servi, ma la sua collera contro i nemici.	14 At the sight your heart wil rejoice, and your limbs regain vigour like the grass. To his servants Yahwehwil reveal his hand, but to his enemies his fury.
15 Poiché, ecco, il Signore viene con il fuoco, i suoi carri sono come un turbine, per riversare con ardore l’ira, la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.	15 For see how Yahweh comes in fire, his chariots like the whirlwind, to assuage his anger with burning,his rebukes with flaming fire.
16 Con il fuoco infatti il Signore farà giustizia e con la spada su ogni uomo; molti saranno i colpiti dal Signore.	16 For by fire wil Yahweh execute fair judgement, and by his sword, on all people; and Yahweh's victimswil be many.
17 Coloro che si consacrano e purificano nei giardini, seguendo uno che sta in mezzo, che mangiano carne suina, cose obbrobriose e topi, insieme finiranno – oracolo del Signore –	17 As for those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to enter the gardens, fol owing the one inthe centre, who eat the flesh of pigs, revolting things and rats: their deeds and their thoughts will perish together,declares Yahweh.
18 con le loro opere e i loro propositi. Io verrò a radunare tutte le genti e tutte le lingue; essi verranno e vedranno la mia gloria.	18 I am coming to gather every nation and every language. They wil come to witness my glory.
19 Io porrò in essi un segno e manderò i loro superstiti alle popolazioni di Tarsis, Put, Lud, Mesec, Ros, Tubal e Iavan, alle isole lontane che non hanno udito parlare di me e non hanno visto la mia gloria; essi annunceranno la mia gloria alle genti.	19 I shal give them a sign and send some of their survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Put, Lud,Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coasts and islands that have never heard of me or seen my glory.They wil proclaim my glory to the nations,
20 Ricondurranno tutti i vostri fratelli da tutte le genti come offerta al Signore, su cavalli, su carri, su portantine, su muli, su dromedari, al mio santo monte di Gerusalemme – dice il Signore –, come i figli d’Israele portano l’offerta in vasi puri nel tempio del Signore.	20 and from al the nations they wil bring al your brothers as an offering to Yahweh, on horses, inchariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to my holy mountain, Jerusalem, Yahweh says, like Israelitesbringing offerings in clean vessels to Yahweh's house.
21 Anche tra loro mi prenderò sacerdoti leviti, dice il Signore.	21 And some of them I shal make into priests and Levites, Yahweh says.
22 Sì, come i nuovi cieli e la nuova terra, che io farò, dureranno per sempre davanti a me – oracolo del Signore –, così dureranno la vostra discendenza e il vostro nome.	22 For as the new heavens and the new earth I am making wil endure before me, declares Yahweh, sowil your race and your name endure.
23 In ogni mese al novilunio, e al sabato di ogni settimana, verrà ognuno a prostrarsi davanti a me, dice il Signore.	23 From New Moon to New Moon, from Sabbath to Sabbath, al humanity wil come and bow in mypresence, Yahweh says.
24 Uscendo, vedranno i cadaveri degli uomini che si sono ribellati contro di me; poiché il loro verme non morirà, il loro fuoco non si spegnerà e saranno un abominio per tutti».	24 And on their way out they wil see the corpses of those who rebelled against me; for their worm wilnever die nor their fire be put out, and they wil be held in horror by al humanity.
