Isaia 65

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mi feci ricercare da chi non mi consultava, mi feci trovare da chi non mi cercava. Dissi: «Eccomi, eccomi» a una nazione che non invocava il mio nome.	1 I have let myself be approached by those who did not consult me, I have let myself be found by thosewho did not seek me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am!' to a nation that did not invoke my name.
2 Ho teso la mano ogni giorno a un popolo ribelle; essi andavano per una strada non buona, seguendo i loro propositi,	2 Each day I stretched out my hands to a rebel ious people who fol ow a way which is not good, as thefancy takes them;
3 un popolo che mi provocava sempre, con sfacciataggine. Essi sacrificavano nei giardini, offrivano incenso sui mattoni,	3 a people constantly provoking me to my face by sacrificing in gardens, burning incense on bricks,
4 abitavano nei sepolcri, passavano la notte in nascondigli, mangiavano carne suina e cibi immondi nei loro piatti.	4 living in tombs, spending the night in dark corners, eating the meat of pigs, putting unclean foods ontheir plates.
5 Essi dicono: «Sta’ lontano! Non accostarti a me, che per te sono sacro». Tali cose sono un fumo al mio naso, un fuoco acceso tutto il giorno.	5 'Keep your distance,' they say, 'do not touch me, lest my sanctity come near you!' Such words are likestifling smoke to me, an ever-burning fire.
6 Ecco, tutto questo sta scritto davanti a me; io non tacerò finché non avrò ripagato abbondantemente	6 Look, it is inscribed before me: I shal not be silent until I have repaid them, repaid them in ful ,
7 le vostre iniquità e le iniquità dei vostri padri, tutte insieme, dice il Signore. Costoro hanno bruciato incenso sui monti e sui colli mi hanno insultato; così io misurerò loro in grembo la ricompensa delle loro azioni passate.	7 punished your guilt and your ancestors' guilt together, Yahweh declares. For having burnt incense onthe mountains and insulted me on the hil s, I shal pay them back in ful for what they have done.
8 Dice il Signore: «Come quando si trova succo in un grappolo, si dice: “Non distruggetelo, perché qui c’è una benedizione”, così io farò per amore dei miei servi, per non distruggere ogni cosa.	8 Yahweh says this: As when a bunch of grapes is found stil to have juice in it, people say, 'Do notdestroy it, for it contains a blessing,' so I shall act for my servants' sake, I shal not destroy them all.
9 Io farò uscire una discendenza da Giacobbe, da Giuda un erede dei miei monti. I miei eletti ne saranno i padroni e i miei servi vi abiteranno.	9 I shal produce descendants from Jacob and heirs to my mountains from Judah, my chosen ones wilown them and my servants wil live there.
10 Saron diventerà un pascolo di greggi, la valle di Acor un recinto per armenti, per il mio popolo che mi ricercherà.	10 Sharon wil be a pasture for flocks, the Val ey of Achor a feeding ground for cattle, for those of mypeople who have sought me.
11 Ma voi, che avete abbandonato il Signore, dimentichi del mio santo monte, che preparate una tavola per Gad e riempite per Menì la coppa di vino,	11 But as for those of you who abandon Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who lay the table forGad, who fil cups of mixed wine for Meni,
12 io vi destino alla spada; tutti vi curverete alla strage, perché ho chiamato e non avete risposto, ho parlato e non avete udito. Avete fatto ciò che è male ai miei occhi, ciò che non gradisco, l’avete scelto».	12 you I shal destine to the sword and al of you wil stoop to be slaughtered, because I cal ed and youwould not answer, I spoke and you would not listen; you have done what I consider evil, you chose to do whatdispleases me.
13 Pertanto, così dice il Signore Dio: «Ecco, i miei servi mangeranno e voi avrete fame; ecco, i miei servi berranno e voi avrete sete; ecco, i miei servi gioiranno e voi resterete delusi;	13 Therefore Lord Yahweh says this: You will see my servants eating while you go hungry; you will seemy servants drinking while you go thirsty; you wil see my servants rejoicing while you are put to shame;
14 ecco, i miei servi giubileranno per la gioia del cuore, voi griderete per il dolore del cuore, urlerete per lo spirito affranto.	14 you will hear my servants shouting for joy of heart, while you shriek for sorrow of heart and howl with abroken spirit.
15 Lascerete il vostro nome come imprecazione fra i miei eletti: “Così ti faccia morire il Signore Dio”. Ma i miei servi saranno chiamati con un altro nome.	15 And you wil leave your name behind as a curse for my chosen ones, 'May Lord Yahweh strike youdead!' But to his servants he wil give another name.
16 Chi vorrà essere benedetto nella terra, vorrà esserlo per il Dio fedele; chi vorrà giurare nella terra, giurerà per il Dio fedele, perché saranno dimenticate le tribolazioni antiche, saranno occultate ai miei occhi.	16 Whoever blesses himself on earth wil bless himself by the God of truth, and whoever swears an oathon earth will swear by the God of truth, for past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.
17 Ecco, infatti, io creo nuovi cieli e nuova terra; non si ricorderà più il passato, non verrà più in mente,	17 For look, I am going to create new heavens and a new earth, and the past will not be rememberedand will come no more to mind.
18 poiché si godrà e si gioirà sempre di quello che sto per creare, poiché creo Gerusalemme per la gioia, e il suo popolo per il gaudio.	18 Rather be joyful, be glad for ever at what I am creating, for look, I am creating Jerusalem to be 'Joy'and my people to be 'Gladness'.
19 Io esulterò di Gerusalemme, godrò del mio popolo. Non si udranno più in essa voci di pianto, grida di angoscia.	19 I shal be joyful in Jerusalem and I shal rejoice in my people. No more will the sound of weeping beheard there, nor the sound of a shriek;
20 Non ci sarà più un bimbo che viva solo pochi giorni, né un vecchio che dei suoi giorni non giunga alla pienezza, poiché il più giovane morirà a cento anni e chi non raggiunge i cento anni sarà considerato maledetto.	20 never again wil there be an infant there who lives only a few days, nor an old man who does not runhis ful course; for the youngest wil die at a hundred, and at a hundred the sinner wil be accursed.
21 Fabbricheranno case e le abiteranno, pianteranno vigne e ne mangeranno il frutto.	21 They will build houses and live in them, they wil plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 Non fabbricheranno perché un altro vi abiti, né pianteranno perché un altro mangi, poiché, quali i giorni dell’albero, tali i giorni del mio popolo. I miei eletti useranno a lungo quanto è prodotto dalle loro mani.	22 They will not build for others to live in, or plant for others to eat; for the days of my people wil be likethe days of a tree, and my chosen ones wil themselves use what they have made.
23 Non faticheranno invano, né genereranno per una morte precoce, perché prole di benedetti dal Signore essi saranno, e insieme con essi anche la loro discendenza.	23 They will not toil in vain, nor bear children destined to disaster, for they are the race of Yahweh'sblessed ones and so are their offspring.
24 Prima che mi invochino, io risponderò; mentre ancora stanno parlando, io già li avrò ascoltati.	24 Thus, before they cal I shal answer, before they stop speaking I shal have heard.
25 Il lupo e l’agnello pascoleranno insieme, il leone mangerà la paglia come un bue, e il serpente mangerà la polvere, non faranno né male né danno in tutto il mio santo monte», dice il Signore.	25 The wolf and the young lamb wil feed together, the lion wil eat hay like the ox, and dust be theserpent's food. No hurt, no harm wil be done on al my holy mountain, Yahweh says.
