Isaia 17

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Oracolo su Damasco. Ecco, Damasco cesserà di essere una città, diverrà un cumulo di rovine.	1 Proclamation about Damascus: Damascus wil soon cease to be a city, it wil become a heap of ruins.
2 Le città di Aroèr saranno abbandonate; saranno pascolo delle greggi, che vi riposeranno senza esserne scacciate.	2 Its towns, abandoned for ever, wil be pastures for flocks; there they wil rest with no one to disturbthem.
3 A Èfraim sarà tolta la cittadella, a Damasco la sovranità. Al resto degli Aramei toccherà la stessa sorte della gloria degli Israeliti. Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.	3 Ephraim wil be stripped of its defences and Damascus of its sovereignty; and the remnant of Aram wilbe treated like the glory of the Israelites -- declares Yahweh Sabaoth.
4 In quel giorno verrà ridotta la gloria di Giacobbe e la pinguedine delle sue membra dimagrirà.	4 When that day comes, Jacob's glory wil diminish, from being fat he wil grow lean;
5 Avverrà come quando il mietitore prende una manciata di steli, e con l’altro braccio falcia le spighe, come quando si raccolgono le spighe nella valle dei Refaìm.	5 as when a reaper gathers in the standing corn, harvesting the ears of corn with his arm, or when theyglean the ears in the Val ey of Rephaim,
6 Vi resteranno solo racimoli, come alla bacchiatura degli ulivi: due o tre bacche sulla cima dell’albero, quattro o cinque sui rami da frutto. Oracolo del Signore, Dio d’Israele.	6 nothing wil remain but pickings, as when an olive tree is beaten; two or three berries left on thetopmost bough, four or five berries on the branches of the tree -- declares Yahweh, God of Israel.
7 In quel giorno si volgerà l’uomo al suo creatore e i suoi occhi guarderanno al Santo d’Israele.	7 That day, a man wil look to his Creator and his eyes wil turn to the Holy One of Israel.
8 Non si volgerà agli altari, lavoro delle sue mani; non guarderà ciò che fecero le sue dita, i pali sacri e gli altari per l’incenso.	8 He will no longer look to altars, his own handiwork, or to what his own fingers have made: the sacredpoles and incense-altars.
9 In quel giorno avverrà alle tue fortezze come alle città abbandonate, che l’Eveo e l’Amorreo evacuarono di fronte agli Israeliti e sarà una desolazione.	9 That day, its cities of refuge wil be abandoned as were the woods and heaths at the Israelites'advance: there wil be desolation.
10 Perché hai dimenticato Dio, tuo salvatore, e non ti sei ricordato della Roccia, tua fortezza, tu pianti giardini ameni e innesti tralci stranieri.	10 Since you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and failed to keep the Rock, your refuge, in mind,you plant pleasure-gardens, you sow exotic seeds;
11 Nel giorno in cui li pianti, li vedi crescere e al mattino vedi fiorire i tuoi semi, ma svanirà il raccolto nel giorno della sventura e del dolore insanabile.	11 the day you plant them, you get them to sprout, and, next morning, your seedlings are in flower; butthe harvest wil vanish on the day of disease and incurable pain.
12 Ah, il tumulto di popoli immensi, tumultuanti come il tumulto dei mari, fragore di nazioni come lo scroscio di acque che scorrono veementi!	12 Disaster! The thunder of vast hordes, a thunder like the thunder of the seas, the roar of nationsroaring like the roar of mighty floods,
13 Le nazioni fanno fragore come il fragore di molte acque, ma egli le minaccia, esse fuggono lontano; come pula sono disperse sui monti dal vento e come vortice di polvere dinanzi al turbine.	13 of nations roaring like the roar of ocean! He rebukes them and far away they flee, driven like chaff onthe mountains before the wind, like an eddy of dust before the storm.
14 Alla sera, ecco, era tutto uno spavento, prima del mattino, già non è più. Questo è il destino di chi ci depredava e la sorte di chi ci saccheggiava.	14 At evening al is terror, by morning al have disappeared. Such wil be the lot of those who plunder us,such, the fate of our despoilers.
