2 Esultate in Dio, nostra forza, acclamate al Dio di Giacobbe.	2 Strike up the music, beat the tambourine, play the melodious harp and the lyre;
3 Intonate il canto e suonate il timpano, la cetra melodiosa con l'arpa.	3 blow the trumpet for the new month, for the ful moon, for our feast day!
4 Suonate la tromba nel plenilunio, nostro giorno di festa.	4 For Israel has this statute, a decision of the God of Jacob,
5 Questa è una legge per Israele, un decreto del Dio di Giacobbe.	5 a decree he imposed on Joseph, when he went to war against Egypt. I heard a voice unknown to me,

9 Ascolta, popolo mio, ti voglio ammonire; Israele, se tu mi ascoltassi!	9 'You shal have no strange gods, shall worship no alien god.
10 Non ci sia in mezzo a te un altro dio e non prostrarti a un dio straniero.	10 I, Yahweh, am your God, who brought you here from Egypt, you have only to open your mouth forme to fil it.
11 Sono io il Signore tuo Dio, che ti ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto; apri la tua bocca, la voglio riempire.	11 'My people would not listen to me, Israel would have none of me.
12 Ma il mio popolo non ha ascoltato la mia voce, Israele non mi ha obbedito.	12 So I left them to their stubborn selves, to fol ow their own devices.
13 L'ho abbandonato alla durezza del suo cuore, che seguisse il proprio consiglio.	13 'If only my people would listen to me, if only Israel would walk in my ways,
14 Se il mio popolo mi ascoltasse, se Israele camminasse per le mie vie!	14 at one stroke I would subdue their enemies, turn my hand against their opponents.
15 Subito piegherei i suoi nemici e contro i suoi avversari porterei la mia mano.	15 'Those who hate Yahweh would woo his favour, though their doom was sealed for ever,
16 I nemici del Signore gli sarebbero sottomessi e la loro sorte sarebbe segnata per sempre;	16 while I would feed him on pure wheat, would give you your fil of honey from the rock.'
17 li nutrirei con fiore di frumento, li sazierei con miele di roccia".
