1 'Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.' Dio della mia lode, non tacere,	1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] God whom I praise, do not be silent!
2 poiché contro di me si sono aperte la bocca dell'empio e dell'uomo di frode; parlano di me con lingua di menzogna.	2 Wicked and deceiving words are being said about me, false accusations are cast in my teeth.
3 Mi investono con parole di odio, mi combattono senza motivo.	3 Words of hate fly al around me, though I give no cause for hostility.
4 In cambio del mio amore mi muovono accuse, mentre io sono in preghiera.	4 In return for my friendship they denounce me, and al I can do is pray!
5 Mi rendono male per bene e odio in cambio di amore.	5 They repay my kindness with evil, and friendship with hatred.
6 Suscita un empio contro di lui e un accusatore stia alla sua destra.	6 'Set up a wicked man against him as accuser to stand on his right.
7 Citato in giudizio, risulti colpevole e il suo appello si risolva in condanna.	7 At his trial may he emerge as guilty, even his prayer construed as a crime!
8 Pochi siano i suoi giorni e il suo posto l'occupi un altro.	8 'May his life be cut short, someone else take over his office,
9 I suoi figli rimangano orfani e vedova sua moglie.	9 his children be orphaned, his wife be widowed.
10 Vadano raminghi i suoi figli, mendicando, siano espulsi dalle loro case in rovina.	10 'May his children wander perpetual y, beggars, driven from the ruins of their house,
11 L'usuraio divori tutti i suoi averi e gli estranei faccian preda del suo lavoro.	11 a creditor seize al his goods, and strangers make off with his earnings.
12 Nessuno gli usi misericordia, nessuno abbia pietà dei suoi orfani.	12 'May there be none left faithful enough to show him love, no one take pity on his orphans,
13 La sua discendenza sia votata allo sterminio, nella generazione che segue sia cancellato il suo nome.	13 the line of his descendants cut off, his name wiped out in one generation.
14 L'iniquità dei suoi padri sia ricordata al Signore, il peccato di sua madre non sia mai cancellato.	14 'May Yahweh never forget the crimes of his ancestors, and his mother's sins not be wiped out;
15 Siano davanti al Signore sempre ed egli disperda dalla terra il loro ricordo.	15 may Yahweh keep these constantly in mind, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.'
16 Perché ha rifiutato di usare misericordia e ha perseguitato il misero e l'indigente, per far morire chi è affranto di cuore.	16 He had no thought of being loyal, but hounded the poor and the needy and the broken-hearted totheir death.
17 Ha amato la maledizione: ricada su di lui! Non ha voluto la benedizione: da lui si allontani!	17 He had a taste for cursing; let it recoil on him! No taste for blessing; let it never come his way!
18 Si è avvolto di maledizione come di un mantello: è penetrata come acqua nel suo intimo e come olio nelle sue ossa.	18 Cursing has been the uniform he wore; let it soak into him like water, like oil right into his bones.
19 Sia per lui come vestito che lo avvolge, come cintura che sempre lo cinge.	19 Let it be as a robe which envelops him completely, a sash which he always wears.
20 Sia questa da parte del Signore la ricompensa per chi mi accusa, per chi dice male contro la mia vita.	20 Let this be the salary Yahweh pays the accusers who blacken my name.
21 Ma tu, Signore Dio, agisci con me secondo il tuo nome: salvami, perché buona è la tua grazia.	21 Yahweh, treat them as your name demands; as your faithful love is generous, deliver me.
22 Io sono povero e infelice e il mio cuore è ferito nell'intimo.	22 Poor and needy as I am, my wounds go right to the heart;
23 Scompaio come l'ombra che declina, sono sbattuto come una locusta.	23 I am passing away like a fading shadow, they have shaken me off like a locust.
24 Le mie ginocchia vacillano per il digiuno, il mio corpo è scarno e deperisce.	24 My knees are weak from lack of food, my body lean for lack of fat.
25 Sono diventato loro oggetto di scherno, quando mi vedono scuotono il capo.	25 I have become the butt of their taunts, they shake their heads at the sight of me.
26 Aiutami, Signore mio Dio, salvami per il tuo amore.	26 Help me, Yahweh my God, save me as your faithful love demands.
27 Sappiano che qui c'è la tua mano: tu, Signore, tu hai fatto questo.	27 Let them know that yours is the saving hand, that this, Yahweh, is your work.
28 Maledicano essi, ma tu benedicimi; insorgano quelli e arrossiscano, ma il tuo servo sia nella gioia.	28 Let them curse, provided that you bless; let their attacks bring shame to them and joy to yourservant!
29 Sia coperto di infamia chi mi accusa e sia avvolto di vergogna come d'un mantello.	29 Let my accusers be clothed in disgrace, enveloped in a cloak of shame.
30 Alta risuoni sulle mie labbra la lode del Signore, lo esalterò in una grande assemblea;	30 With generous thanks to Yahweh on my lips, I shall praise him before all the people,
31 poiché si è messo alla destra del povero per salvare dai giudici la sua vita.	31 for he stands at the side of the poor, to save their lives from those who sit in judgement on them.
