1 'Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.'	1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Rescue me, Yahweh, from evil men, protect me from violentmen,
2 Salvami, Signore, dal malvagio, proteggimi dall'uomo violento,	2 whose heart is bent on malice, day after day they harbour strife;
3 da quelli che tramano sventure nel cuore e ogni giorno scatenano guerre.	3 their tongues as barbed as a serpent's, viper's venom behind their lips.Pause
4 Aguzzano la lingua come serpenti; veleno d'aspide è sotto le loro labbra.	4 Keep me, Yahweh, from the clutches of the wicked, protect me from violent men, who are bent onmaking me stumble,laying out snares where I walk,
5 Proteggimi, Signore, dalle mani degli empi, salvami dall'uomo violento: essi tramano per farmi cadere.	5 in their arrogance hiding pitfal and nooseto trap me as I pass.Pause
6 I superbi mi tendono lacci e stendono funi come una rete, pongono agguati sul mio cammino.	6 I said to Yahweh, 'You are my God.' Listen, Yahweh, to the sound of my prayer.
7 Io dico al Signore: "Tu sei il mio Dio; ascolta, Signore, la voce della mia preghiera".	7 Yahweh my Lord, my saving strength, you shield my head when battle comes.
8 Signore, mio Dio, forza della mia salvezza, proteggi il mio capo nel giorno della lotta.	8 Yahweh, do not grant the wicked their wishes, do not let their plots succeed.Pause Do not let myattackers
9 Signore, non soddisfare i desideri degli empi, non favorire le loro trame.	9 prevail, but let them be overwhelmed by their own malice.
10 Alzano la testa quelli che mi circondano, ma la malizia delle loro labbra li sommerge.	10 May red-hot embers rain down on them, may they be flung into the mire once and for all.
11 Fa' piovere su di loro carboni ardenti, gettali nel bàratro e più non si rialzino.	11 May the slanderer find no rest anywhere, may evil hunt down violent men implacably.
12 Il maldicente non duri sulla terra, il male spinga il violento alla rovina.	12 I know that Yahweh wil give judgement for the wretched, justice for the needy.
13 So che il Signore difende la causa dei miseri, il diritto dei poveri.	13 The upright shal praise your name, the honest dwel in your presence.
14 Sì, i giusti loderanno il tuo nome, i retti abiteranno alla tua presenza.
