1 'Canto delle ascensioni'. Alzo gli occhi verso i monti: da dove mi verrà l'aiuto?	1 In my trouble I cried to the Lord: and he heard me.
2 Il mio aiuto viene dal Signore, che ha fatto cielo e terra.	2 O Lord, deliver my soul from wicked lips, and a deceitful tongue.
3 Non lascerà vacillare il tuo piede, non si addormenterà il tuo custode.	3 What shall be given to thee, or what shall be added to thee, to a deceitful tongue.
4 Non si addormenterà, non prenderà sonno, il custode d'Israele.	4 The sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals that lay waste.
5 Il Signore è il tuo custode, il Signore è come ombra che ti copre, e sta alla tua destra.	5 Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged! I have dwelt with the inhabitants of cedar:
6 Di giorno non ti colpirà il sole, né la luna di notte.	6 my soul hath been long a sojourner.
7 Il Signore ti proteggerà da ogni male, egli proteggerà la tua vita.	7 With them that hate peace I was peaceable: when I spoke to them they fought against me without cause.
8 Il Signore veglierà su di te, quando esci e quando entri, da ora e per sempre.
