1 'Canto delle ascensioni'. Alzo gli occhi verso i monti: da dove mi verrà l'aiuto?	1 [Song of Ascents] I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where is my help to come from?
2 Il mio aiuto viene dal Signore, che ha fatto cielo e terra.	2 My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.
3 Non lascerà vacillare il tuo piede, non si addormenterà il tuo custode.	3 May he save your foot from stumbling; may he, your guardian, not fall asleep!
4 Non si addormenterà, non prenderà sonno, il custode d'Israele.	4 You see -- he neither sleeps nor slumbers, the guardian of Israel.
5 Il Signore è il tuo custode, il Signore è come ombra che ti copre, e sta alla tua destra.	5 Yahweh is your guardian, your shade, Yahweh, at your right hand.
6 Di giorno non ti colpirà il sole, né la luna di notte.	6 By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.
7 Il Signore ti proteggerà da ogni male, egli proteggerà la tua vita.	7 Yahweh guards you from al harm Yahweh guards your life,
8 Il Signore veglierà su di te, quando esci e quando entri, da ora e per sempre.	8 Yahweh guards your comings and goings, henceforth and for ever.
