2 Cantate con gioia a Dio nostro protettore, alzate grida di giubilo al Dio di Giacobbe.	2 over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.
3 Intonate salmi, date nei timpani, toccate l'arpa soave e la cetra.	3 God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
4 Fate squillar la tromba del novilunio, nel dì solenne della nostra festa;	4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?
5 Perchè è un precetto in Israe le, è un decreto del Dio di Giacobbe	5 You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.

9 Ascolta. o popolo mio, che ti voglio ammonire: oh, se tu m dessi ascolto, o Israele!	9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.
10 Non vi dovrà essere in te nuovo dio, non devi adorare un dio straniero.	10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,
11 Io sono il Signore Dio tuo che ti trassi fuori dalla terra d'Egitto: allarga la tua bocca, ed io la riempirò.	11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.
12 Ma il mio popolo non ascoltò la mia voce, Israele non volle sapere di me;	12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,
13 Ed io li abbandonai ai desideri del loro cuore: andranno secondo i loro capricci.	13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.
14 Se il mio popolo m'avesse dato retta, se Israele avesse camminato nelle mie vie,	14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;
15 In un momento avrei umiliati i suoi nemici ed avrei messa la mia mano sopra chi l'affligge ».	15 protect what your own hand has planted.
16 Ai nemici del Signore gli mancaron di fede, ma i1 loro tempo sarà in eterno.	16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.
17 Egli li ha nutriti col fiore dei frumento, li ha saziati col miele stillante dalla roccia.	17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
	18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
