1 'Cantico. Salmo. Dei figli di Core.'	1 [Song Psalm Of the sons of Korah] Great is Yahweh and most worthy of praise in the city of our God,the holy mountain,
2 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lode nella città del nostro Dio.	2 towering in beauty, the joy of the whole world: Mount Zion in the heart of the north, the settlement ofthe great king;
3 Il suo monte santo, altura stupenda, è la gioia di tutta la terra. Il monte Sion, dimora divina, è la città del grande Sovrano.	3 God himself among its palaces has proved himself its bulwark.
4 Dio nei suoi baluardi è apparso fortezza inespugnabile.	4 For look, kings made al iance, together they advanced;
5 Ecco, i re si sono alleati, sono avanzati insieme.	5 without a second glance, when they saw, they panicked and fled away.
6 Essi hanno visto: attoniti e presi dal panico, sono fuggiti.	6 Trembling seized them on the spot, pains like those of a woman in labour;
7 Là sgomento li ha colti, doglie come di partoriente,	7 it was the east wind, that wrecker of ships from Tarshish.
8 simile al vento orientale che squarcia le navi di Tarsis.	8 What we had heard we saw for ourselves in the city of our God, in the city of Yahweh Sabaoth, whichGod has established for ever.Pause
9 Come avevamo udito, così abbiamo visto nella città del Signore degli eserciti, nella città del nostro Dio; Dio l'ha fondata per sempre.	9 We reflect on your faithful love, God, in your temple!
10 Ricordiamo, Dio, la tua misericordia dentro il tuo tempio.	10 Both your name and your praise, God, are over the whole wide world. Your right hand is ful of savingjustice,
11 Come il tuo nome, o Dio, così la tua lode si estende sino ai confini della terra; è piena di giustizia la tua destra.	11 Mount Zion rejoices, the daughters of Judah delight because of your saving justice.
12 Gioisca il monte di Sion, esultino le città di Giuda a motivo dei tuoi giudizi.	12 Go round Zion, walk right through her, count her bastions,
13 Circondate Sion, giratele intorno, contate le sue torri.	13 admire her walls, examine her palaces, to tel future generations
14 Osservate i suoi baluardi, passate in rassegna le sue fortezze, per narrare alla generazione futura:	14 that such is God; our God for ever and ever, he is our guide!
15 Questo è il Signore, nostro Dio in eterno, sempre: egli è colui che ci guida.
