1 - Al corifeo: su «Gigli». Di David.	1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let those who hate him flee before him!
2 Salvami, o Dio, perchè son penetrate le acque sino all'anima mia;	2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before fire, let the wicked perish before God!
3 sono immerso nel fango profondoe non c'è un punto d'appoggio; son caduto in fondo al mare e la tempesta mi sommerge.	3 But let the righteous be joyful; let them exult before God; let them be jubilant with joy!
4 Mi son stancato a gridare, roca è la mia gola; si logorano i miei occhi nell'aspettare il mio Dio.	4 Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds; his name is the LORD, exult before him!
5 Son più numerosi de' capelli del mio capoquei che m'odian senza motivo; forti sono i miei nemici che ingiustamente mi perseguitano: quel che non ho rapito, mi tocca restituire!	5 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.
6 O Dio, tu sai la mia stoltezza, e i miei falli non ti son nascosti.	6 God gives the desolate a home to dwell in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
7 Non arrossiscan per mequei che sperano in te, o Signore, Signore degli eserciti!non sian svergognati a motivo di mequei che ti cercano, o Dio d'Israele!	7 O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness, [Selah]
8 Giacchè per te io sopporto l'obbrobrio, e la vergogna copre il mio volto.	8 the earth quaked, the heavens poured down rain, at the presence of God; yon Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Uno straniero son diventato per i miei fratellie un forestiero per i figli di mia madre.	9 Rain in abundance, O God, thou didst shed abroad; thou didst restore thy heritage as it languished;
10 Perchè lo zelo della tua casa m'ha divoratoe gl'insulti de' tuoi ingiuriatori son ricaduti su me.	10 thy flock found a dwelling in it; in thy goodness, O God, thou didst provide for the needy.
11 Ho afflitto col digiuno l'anima mia, e n'è derivato obbrobrio per me:	11 The Lord gives the command; great is the host of those who bore the tidings:
12 ho messo per mia veste un sacco, e son diventato la favola loro.	12 "The kings of the armies, they flee, they flee!" The women at home divide the spoil,
13 Sparlan di me quei che siedono alle porte, e fan canzonette su me i bevitori di vino.	13 though they stay among the sheepfolds-- the wings of a dove covered with silver, its pinions with green gold.
14 Ma io la mia preghiera [rivolgo] a te, o Signore: il tempo della benevolenza [è giunto già], o Dio. Nella grandezza della tua bontà esaudiscimi, con la fedeltà del tuo soccorso!	14 When the Almighty scattered kings there, snow fell on Zalmon.
15 Tirami su dal fango, ch'io non affondi; liberami dai quei che m'odiano e dalla profondità delle acque.	15 O mighty mountain, mountain of Bashan; O many-peaked mountain, mountain of Bashan!
16 Non mi sommerga la tempesta de' flutti, nè m'ingoi la voragine, e non serri su mela fossa la sua bocca.	16 Why look you with envy, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount which God desired for his abode, yea, where the LORD will dwell for ever?
17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, perchè la tua pietà è benigna: secondo la moltitudine delle tue misericordie china lo sguardo su me!	17 With mighty chariotry, twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the holy place.
18 Non voltar la faccia dal tuo servo; poichè son nell'angustia, affrettati ad esaudirmi!	18 Thou didst ascend the high mount, leading captives in thy train, and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.
19 Vieni all'anima mia e liberala: per via de' miei nemici, salvami!	19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. [Selah]
20 Tu sai il mio obbrobrio, la mia vergogna e l'ignominia mia:	20 Our God is a God of salvation; and to GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death.
21 al tuo cospetto son tutti i miei persecutori. L'oltraggio ha spezzato il mio cuore e sono affranto. E ho atteso chi s'attristasse con me e non c' è stato, e chi mi consolasse e non l'ho trovato.	21 But God will shatter the heads of his enemies, the hairy crown of him who walks in his guilty ways.
22 E fiele m'ha dato per cibo, e nella mia sete m'hanno abbeverato d'aceto.	22 The Lord said, "I will bring them back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,
23 La loro mensa diventi dinanzi ad essi un laccioe un castigo e una pietra d'inciampo.	23 that you may bathe your feet in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from the foe."
24 Si offuschino i loro occhi, sì da non vederci [più], e il loro dorso tieni curvo sempre.	24 Thy solemn processions are seen, O God, the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary--
25 Versa su loro l'ira tuae il furore dell'ira tua gli afferri!	25 the singers in front, the minstrels last, between them maidens playing timbrels:
26 Sia desolata la loro casae sotto le tende loro non ci sia chi abiti.	26 "Bless God in the great congregation, the LORD, O you who are of Israel's fountain!"
27 Perchè colui che tu avevi colpito, essi han perseguitato, e il dolor delle mie piaghe [hanno accresciuto].	27 There is Benjamin, the least of them, in the lead, the princes of Judah in their throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28 Aggiungi iniquità alla loro iniquità, e non abbiamo accesso alla tua giustizia.	28 Summon thy might, O God; show thy strength, O God, thou who hast wrought for us.
29 Sian cancellati dal libro de' viventi, e tra i giusti non siano iscritti!	29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem kings bear gifts to thee.
30 Io son misero e dolente; il tuo soccorso salutare, o Dio, mi sollevi!	30 Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples. Trample under foot those who lust after tribute; scatter the peoples who delight in war.
31 Celebrerò il nome di Dio con un cantico, lo magnificherò con una laude.	31 Let bronze be brought from Egypt; let Ethiopia hasten to stretch out her hands to God.
32 E piacerà [questo] a Dio più d'un giovenco, [più d'un] giovane [toro], che ha messo corna e unghie.	32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord, [Selah]
33 Vedano i miseri e s'allietino;[e voi che] cercate Dio, riviva l'anima vostra!	33 to him who rides in the heavens, the ancient heavens; lo, he sends forth his voice, his mighty voice.
34 Perchè ascolta i miseri il Signore, e i suoi prigionieri non disprezza.	34 Ascribe power to God, whose majesty is over Israel, and his power is in the skies.
35 Dian lode a lui i cieli e la terra, il mare e tutto quanto in esso si muove!	35 Terrible is God in his sanctuary, the God of Israel, he gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
36 Perchè Dio salverà Sione saran riedificate le città di Giuda, e vi abiteranno e la rioccuperanno:
37 e la stirpe de' suoi servi la possederà, e que' che amano il suo nome vi dimoreranno!
