2 Salvami, o Dio, perchè son penetrate le acque sino all'anima mia;	2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.
3 sono immerso nel fango profondoe non c'è un punto d'appoggio; son caduto in fondo al mare e la tempesta mi sommerge.	3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.
4 Mi son stancato a gridare, roca è la mia gola; si logorano i miei occhi nell'aspettare il mio Dio.	4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.
5 Son più numerosi de' capelli del mio capoquei che m'odian senza motivo; forti sono i miei nemici che ingiustamente mi perseguitano: quel che non ho rapito, mi tocca restituire!	5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.
6 O Dio, tu sai la mia stoltezza, e i miei falli non ti son nascosti.	6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,
7 Non arrossiscan per mequei che sperano in te, o Signore, Signore degli eserciti!non sian svergognati a motivo di mequei che ti cercano, o Dio d'Israele!	7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.
8 Giacchè per te io sopporto l'obbrobrio, e la vergogna copre il mio volto.	8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah
9 Uno straniero son diventato per i miei fratellie un forestiero per i figli di mia madre.	9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
10 Perchè lo zelo della tua casa m'ha divoratoe gl'insulti de' tuoi ingiuriatori son ricaduti su me.	10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;
11 Ho afflitto col digiuno l'anima mia, e n'è derivato obbrobrio per me:	11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.
12 ho messo per mia veste un sacco, e son diventato la favola loro.	12 All you people so numerous,
13 Sparlan di me quei che siedono alle porte, e fan canzonette su me i bevitori di vino.	13 b) Every household will share the booty,
14 Ma io la mia preghiera [rivolgo] a te, o Signore: il tempo della benevolenza [è giunto già], o Dio. Nella grandezza della tua bontà esaudiscimi, con la fedeltà del tuo soccorso!	14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."
15 Tirami su dal fango, ch'io non affondi; liberami dai quei che m'odiano e dalla profondità delle acque.	15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.
16 Non mi sommerga la tempesta de' flutti, nè m'ingoi la voragine, e non serri su mela fossa la sua bocca.	16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,
17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, perchè la tua pietà è benigna: secondo la moltitudine delle tue misericordie china lo sguardo su me!	17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?
18 Non voltar la faccia dal tuo servo; poichè son nell'angustia, affrettati ad esaudirmi!	18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.
19 Vieni all'anima mia e liberala: per via de' miei nemici, salvami!	19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.
20 Tu sai il mio obbrobrio, la mia vergogna e l'ignominia mia:	20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah
21 al tuo cospetto son tutti i miei persecutori. L'oltraggio ha spezzato il mio cuore e sono affranto. E ho atteso chi s'attristasse con me e non c' è stato, e chi mi consolasse e non l'ho trovato.	21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.
22 E fiele m'ha dato per cibo, e nella mia sete m'hanno abbeverato d'aceto.	22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.
23 La loro mensa diventi dinanzi ad essi un laccioe un castigo e una pietra d'inciampo.	23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.
24 Si offuschino i loro occhi, sì da non vederci [più], e il loro dorso tieni curvo sempre.	24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."
25 Versa su loro l'ira tuae il furore dell'ira tua gli afferri!	25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.
26 Sia desolata la loro casae sotto le tende loro non ci sia chi abiti.	26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.
27 Perchè colui che tu avevi colpito, essi han perseguitato, e il dolor delle mie piaghe [hanno accresciuto].	27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.
28 Aggiungi iniquità alla loro iniquità, e non abbiamo accesso alla tua giustizia.	28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.
29 Sian cancellati dal libro de' viventi, e tra i giusti non siano iscritti!	29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.
30 Io son misero e dolente; il tuo soccorso salutare, o Dio, mi sollevi!	30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.
31 Celebrerò il nome di Dio con un cantico, lo magnificherò con una laude.	31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.
32 E piacerà [questo] a Dio più d'un giovenco, [più d'un] giovane [toro], che ha messo corna e unghie.	32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.
33 Vedano i miseri e s'allietino;[e voi che] cercate Dio, riviva l'anima vostra!	33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah
34 Perchè ascolta i miseri il Signore, e i suoi prigionieri non disprezza.	34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.
35 Dian lode a lui i cieli e la terra, il mare e tutto quanto in esso si muove!	35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.
36 Perchè Dio salverà Sione saran riedificate le città di Giuda, e vi abiteranno e la rioccuperanno:	36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!
37 e la stirpe de' suoi servi la possederà, e que' che amano il suo nome vi dimoreranno!
