| 1 La sapienza elogia se stessa e si gloria in mezzo al suo popolo. | 1 Wisdom sings her own praises, before her own people she proclaims her glory; |
| 2 Apre la bocca nell’assemblea dell’Altissimo e si gloria dinanzi al suo esercito: | 2 In the assembly of the Most High she opens her mouth, in the presence of his hosts she declares her worth: |
| 3 «Sono uscita dalla bocca dell’Altissimo e come vapore ho coperto interamente la terra. | 3 "From the mouth of the Most High I came forth, and mistlike covered the earth. |
| 4 Ho posto la mia tenda in alto; il mio trono è sopra una colonna di nube. | 4 In the highest heavens did I dwell, my throne on a pillar of cloud. |
| 5 Ho fatto da sola il giro del cielo e ho percorso le profondità dell’abisso, | 5 The vault of heaven I compassed alone, through the deep abyss I wandered. |
| 6 i flutti del mare e ogni terra; sono stata la prima di ogni popolo e gente. | 6 Over waves of the sea, over all the land, over every people and nation I held sway. |
| 7 Tra tutti costoro ho cercato dove sostare e nell’eredità di chi fissare il mio soggiorno. | 7 Among all these I sought a resting place; in whose inheritance should I abide? |
| 8 Allora il creatore di tutte le cose mi fece un comando, colui che mi aveva creato fece sostare la mia tenda, dicendomi: “Metti la tua tenda presso Giacobbe; tua porzione sia Israele ”. | 8 "Then the Creator of all gave me his command, and he who formed me chose the spot for my tent, Saying, 'In Jacob make your dwelling, in Israel your inheritance.' |

| 14 sono cresciuta come una palma in Engaddi e come piante di rose a Gerico e come olivo bello a vedersi nella Shefela e come platano che si innalza dal fiume. | 14 Like a palm tree in En-gedi, like a rosebush in Jericho, Like a fair olive tree in the field, like a plane tree growing beside the water. |
| 15 Diedi profumo come il cinnamomo e il balsamo aromatico; ho diffuso odore come mirra scelta, come galbano e onice e storace e come vapore d’incenso nella tenda. | 15 Like cinnamon, or fragrant balm, or precious myrrh, I give forth perfume; Like galbanum and onycha and sweet spices, like the odor of incense in the holy place. |
| 16 Ho steso i rami come il terebinto; i miei rami sono rami di gloria e di grazia. | 16 I spread out my branches like a terebinth, my branches so bright and so graceful. |
| 17 Come vite ho germogliato graziosamente; i miei fiori sono frutti pomposi e ricchi. | 17 I bud forth delights like the vine, my blossoms become fruit fair and rich. |
| 18 Quanti mi desiderate accostatevi e saziatevi dei miei prodotti; | 18 Come to me, all you that yearn for me, and be filled with my fruits; |
| 19 la memoria di me, infatti, è più dolce del miele; avere me in sorte è più dolce del favo. | 19 You will remember me as sweeter than honey, better to have than the honeycomb. |
| 20 Chi mangia di me ha fame ancora; chi beve di me ha ancora sete. | 20 He who eats of me will hunger still, he who drinks of me will thirst for more; |
| 21 Chi mi ascolta non avrà vergogna; chi lavora sul mio non fallisce ». | 21 He who obeys me will not be put to shame, he who serves me will never fail." |
| 22 Tutto questo fa il libro dell’alleanza di Dio Altissimo, la legge che fu data a noi da Mosè, eredità per la comunità di Giacobbe: | 22 All this is true of the book of the Most High's covenant, the law which Moses commanded us as an inheritance for the community of Jacob. |

| 27 Poichè il suo pensiero è più pieno del mare; il suo consiglio più dell’abisso profondo! | 27 For deeper than the sea are her thoughts; her counsels, than the great abyss. |
