| 21 Ora dunque non temete, io provvederò al sostentamento per voi e per i vostri bambini». Così li consolò e fece loro coraggio. | 21 So there is no need to be afraid; I shall provide for you and your dependants.' In this way hereassured them by speaking affectionately to them. |
| 22 Giuseppe, con la famiglia di suo padre, abitò in Egitto e visse centodieci anni. | 22 So Joseph stayed in Egypt with his father's family; and Joseph lived a hundred and ten years. |
| 23 Così Giuseppe vide i figli di Efraim fino alla terza generazione; e anche i figli di Machir figlio di Rianasse nacquero sulle ginocchia di Giuseppe. | 23 Joseph saw the third generation of Ephraim's line, as also the children of Machir son of Manasseh,who were born on Joseph's lap. |
| 24 Poi Giuseppe disse ai fratelli: «Io sto per morire, ma Dio verrà certamente a visitarvi è vi farà uscire da questa terra verso la terra che egli ha giurato ad Abramo, a Isacco e a Giacobbe». | 24 At length Joseph said to his brothers, 'I am about to die; but God wil be sure to remember you kindlyand take you out of this country to the country which he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.' |
| 25 Giuseppe fece pronunciare questo giuramento ai figli di Israele: «Dio verrà certamente a visitarvi e allora voi porterete via di qui le mie ossa». | 25 And Joseph put Israel's sons on oath, saying, 'When God remembers you with kindness, be sure totake my bones away from here.' |
| 26 Poi Giuseppe morì all’età di centodieci anni; fu imbalsamato e fu posto in un sarcofago in Egitto. | 26 Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten; he was embalmed and laid in a coffin in Egypt. |
