1 L'anno decimo, il decimo mese, agli undici del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:	1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the eleventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro Faraone re dell'Egitto, e profeterai sopra di lui, e sopra tutto l'Egitto:	2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and you shall prophesy about him and about all of Egypt.
3 Tu parlerai, e dirai: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Faraone re dell'Egitto, gran dragone, che giaci in mezzo a' tuoi fiumi, e dici: mio è il fiume, ed io da me mi son fatto.	3 Speak, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, you great dragon, who rests in the midst of your rivers. And you say: ‘Mine is the river, and I have made myself.’
4 Ma io porrò un freno alle tue mascelle, e i pesci de' tuoi fiumi farò, che stiano attaccati alle tue squamme, e ti trarrò di mezzo a' tuoi fiumi, e tutti tuoi pesci staranno attaccati alle tue squamme.	4 But I will place a bridle in your jaws. And I will adhere the fish of your rivers to your scales. And I will draw you out of the midst of your rivers, and all your fish will adhere to your scales.
5 E te, e tutti i pesci de' tuoi fiumi io getterò nel deserto: tu cadrai per terra, e non sarai raccolto, né sepolto: io ti ho dato alle bestie della terra, e agli uccelli dell'aria, che di te faran pasto:	5 And I will cast you into the desert, with all the fish of your river. You will fall upon the surface of the earth; you will not be taken up, nor gathered together. I have given you to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the air, to be devoured.
6 E gli abitatori tutti dell'Egitto conosceranno, chi io sono il Signore, perchè tu se' stato un sostegno di canna per la casa d'Israele.	6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord. For you have been a staff made of reed to the house of Israel.
7 Quando ti preser in mano, tu ti rompesti, e lacerasti tutto il lor braccio, e quando vollero appoggiarsi sopra di te, e tu te n'andasti in pezzi, e facesti lor rompere i reni.	7 When they took hold of you with the hand, you broke, and so you wounded all of their shoulders. And when they leaned on you, you shattered, and so you injured all of their lower backs.
8 Per questo cosi dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, che io farò piombare la spada sopra di te: ucciderò i tuoi uomini, e i tuoi giumenti.	8 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will lead the sword over you, and I will destroy both man and beast from among you.
9 E la terra d'Egitto diverrà un deserto, ed una solitudine: e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore, perchè tu hai detto: mio è il fiume, ed io lo ho fatto:	9 And the land of Egypt will be a desert and a wilderness. And they shall know that I am the Lord. For you have said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it.’
10 Per questo eccomi a te, ed a tuoi fiumi: e farò, che la terra d'Egitto divenga una solitudine desolata dalla spada, dalla torre di Siene sino a' confini dell'Etiopia.	10 Therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers. And I will make the land of Egypt into a wilderness, destroyed by the sword from the tower of Syene all the way to the borders of Ethiopia.
11 Ella non sarà battuta da piede umano, né pesta da pie di giumento, e sarà disabitata per quarant'anni.	11 The foot of man will not pass through it, and the foot of cattle will not walk in it. And it will be uninhabited for forty years.
12 E la terra d'Egitto renderò deserta in mezzo a' paesi deserti, e le città di lei simili alle città distrutte, e saran desolate per quarant' anni, e spergerò gli Egiziani tralle nazioni, e li trasporterò in varj paesi ad ogni vento.	12 And I will set the land of Egypt in desolation, in the midst of desolate lands, and its cities in the midst of overturned cites. And they will be desolate for forty years. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and I will disperse them among the lands.
13 Perocché queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Dopo che saranno passati i quarant' anni, radunerò gli Egiziani di mezzo a' popoli, tra' quali furon dispersi,	13 For thus says the Lord God: After the end of forty years, I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they had been scattered.
14 E rimenerò gli schiavi Egiziani, e li collocherò nella terra di Phatures, nella terra dove erano nati, e vi formeranno un povero regno:	14 And I will lead back the captivity of Egypt, and I will collect them in the land of Pathros, in the land of their nativity. And in that place, they will be a lowly kingdom.
15 Ei sarà tra gli altri regni il più piccolo, né più s'innalzerà sopra le nazioni, e li terrò bassi, perchè non signoreggin le genti.	15 It will be the lowest among the other kingdoms, and it will no longer be exalted above the nations. And I will diminish them, lest they rule over the Gentiles.
16 E non saran più la fidanza della casa d'Israele, cui insegnavan l'iniquità, perchè a loro ricorresse, e gli seguitasse; e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore Dio.	16 And they will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, teaching iniquity, so that they may flee and follow them. And they shall know that I am the Lord God.”
17 E l'anno ventesimo settimo, il primo mese, il primo del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:	17 And it happened that, in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
18 Figliuolo dell'uomo, il re di Babilonia Nabuchodonosor ha fatto servire la sua armata in penosa servitù contro di Tiro: tutte le teste son divenute calve, e tutti gli omeri sono scorticati; e non è stata data a lui, né al suo esercito ricompensa per la servitù, ch'ei mi ha prestata contro di Tiro,	18 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has caused his army to serve with great servility against Tyre. Every head was shaven, and every shoulder was stripped of hair. And wages have not been paid to him, nor to his army, for Tyre, for the service by which he served for me against it.
19 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, che io metterò Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia nella terra d'Egitto, e ne farà prigioniero il popolo, e lo saccheggerà, e ne dividerà le spoglie, e sarà ricompensato il suo esercito,	19 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will station Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, in the land of Egypt. And he will take its multitude, and he will prey upon its profits, and he will plunder its spoils. And this shall be the wages for his army
20 Pel servigio renduto contro Tiro io gli ho data la terra d'Egitto, perchè egli ha faticato per me, dice il Signore Dio.	20 and for the work by which he has served against it. I have given to him the land of Egypt, because he has labored for me, says the Lord God.
21 In quel giorno rifiorirà la possanza della casa d'Israele, ed a te aprirò io la bocca in mezzo ad essi, e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.	21 In that day, a horn will spring forth for the house of Israel, and I will give to you an open mouth in their midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
