1 Abbi pietà di noi, o Dio dell'universo, e guardaci, e mostraci la luce delle tue misericordie.	1 Come to our aid, O God of the universe, and put all the nations in dread of you!
2 Spandi il tuo terrore sopra le genti che non ti han cercato, affinchè sappiano che non v'è altro Dio fuori di te e raccontino le tue maraviglie.	2 Raise your hand against the heathen, that they may realize your power.
3 Alza la tua mano contro le nazioni straniere, affinchè veggano la tua potenza.	3 As you have used us to show them your holiness, so now use them to show us your glory.
4 Come davanti a loro hai mostrato in noi la tua santità, così davanti a noi mostra sopra di loro la tua grandezza.	4 Thus they will know, as we know, that there is no God but you.
5 Affinché riconoscano, come l'abbiamo riconosciuto noi, che non v'è altro Dio fuori di te, o Signore.	5 Give new signs and work new wonders; show forth the splendor of your right hand and arm;
6 Rinnova i miracoli, fai delle altre maraviglie,	6 Rouse your anger, pour out wrath, humble the enemy, scatter the foe.
7 glorifica la tua mano, il tuo braccio destro.	7 Hasten the day, bring on the time;
8 Eccita il furore, effondi l'ira,	8 Let raging fire consume the fugitive, and your people's oppressors meet destruction.
9 distruggi l'avversario, annienta il nemico.	9 crush the heads of the hostile rulers.

12 Schiaccia la testa dei principi nemici, che dicono: « Non ci siamo che noi! ».	12 Take pity on your holy city, Jerusalem, your dwelling place.
13 Raduna tutte le tribù di Giacobbe, affinchè riconoscano che non c'è altro Dio fuori di te e raccontino le tue maraviglie, e sian tua eredità come da principio.	13 Fill Zion with your majesty, your temple with your glory.
14 Abbi pietà del tuo popolo, sopra il quale è invocato il tuo nome, e d'Israele, che tu hai trattato come tuo primogenito.	14 Give evidence of your deeds of old; fulfill the prophecies spoken in your name,
15 Abbi pietà della, città da te santificata, di Gerusalemme, città del tuo riposo.	15 Reward those who have hoped in you, and let your prophets be proved true.
16 Riempi Sionne delle tue ineffabili parole, e il tuo popolo della tua gloria.	16 Hear the prayer of your servants, for you are ever gracious to your people;
17 Rendi testimonianza a coloro che sono fin da principio tue creature, e fa rivivere le predizioni annunziate in nome tuo dagli antichi profeti.	17 Thus it will be known to the very ends of the earth that you are the eternal God.
18 Ricompensa coloro che ti aspettano con pazienza, in modo che sian riconosciuti fedeli i tuoi profeti ed esaudisci le orazioni dei tuoi servi,	18 The throat can swallow any food, yet some foods are more agreeable than others;
19 secondo la benedizione di Aronne sul tuo popolo; e guidaci nella via della giustizia, affinchè sappiano tutti gli abitatori della terra che tu sei il Dio scrutatore dei secoli.	19 As the palate tests meat by its savor, so does a keen mind insincere words.
20 Il ventre riceve ogni sorta di nutrimento, ma un cibo è migliore d'un altro.	20 A deceitful character causes grief, but an experienced man can turn the tables on him.
21 Il palato distingue la cacciagione, e il cuore assennato le parole menzognere.	21 Though any man may be accepted as a husband, yet one girl will be more suitable than another:
22 Il cuore perverso sarà causa di tristezza, ma l'uomo sapiente gli saprà resistere.	22 A woman's beauty makes her husband's face light up, for it surpasses all else that charms the eye;

24 La bellezza della donna fa gaia la faccia del suo marito, e infonde in lui un desiderio superiore ad ogni umana concupiscenza.	24 A wife is her husband's richest treasure, a helpmate, a steadying column.
