BIBBIA TINTORI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 La donna saggia edifica la sua casa, la stolta, anche se edificata, la distrugge colle proprie mani.	1 A wise woman builds up her household. But a foolish one will pull down with her own hands what has been built up.
2 Chi cammina per la via retta e teme Dio, è disprezzato da colui che va per la via infame.	2 One who walks on a virtuous journey, and who fears God, is despised by him who advances along a disreputable way.
3 Nella bocca dello stolto c'è la verga della superbia, ma le labbra dei sapienti son la loro guardia.	3 In the mouth of the foolish, there is a rod of arrogance. But the lips of the wise guard them.
4 Se mancano i buoi la mangiatoia è vuota, dove son abbondanti raccolte si manifesta la forza del bove.	4 Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is empty. But where there are many crops, there the strength of the ox is manifest.
5 Si testimone fedele non mentisce, ma il falso testimone spaccia menzogne.	5 A faithful witness will not lie. But a deceitful witness offers a lie.
6 Il beffardo cerca la sapienza e non la trova, per i prudenti è facile istruirsi.	6 A mocker seeks wisdom and does not find it. The doctrine of the prudent is accessible.
7 Va lungi dallo stolto: egli non conosce i dettami della prudenza.	7 Go against a foolish man, and he does not acknowledge lips of prudence.
8 La sapienza dell'accorto sta nel conoscere la sua strada, l'imprudenza degli stolti la fa sbagliare.	8 The wisdom of a discerning man is to understand his way. And the imprudence of the foolish is to be wandering astray.
9 Lo stolto si burlerà del peccato, ma fra i giusti dimorerà la grazia.	9 The foolish will speak mockingly of sin. But grace lingers among the just.
10 E' il cuore che conosce le amarezze dell'anima sua: alla sua gioia non può partecipare un estraneo.	10 The heart that knows the bitterness of its own soul, in its gladness the outsider shall not meddle.
11 La casa degli empi sarà distrutta, ma le tendo dei giusti saran floride.	11 The house of the impious will be wiped away. Yet truly, the tabernacles of the just shall spring forth.
12 C'è una via che all'uomo sembra giusta, ma finisce col menare alla morte.	12 There is a way which seems just to a man, but its conclusion leads to death.
13 Il riso sarà mescolato col dolore, il pianto succederà all'allegrezza.	13 Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning occupies the limits of joy.
14 Lo stolto sarà soddisfatto della sua condotta, ma il virtuoso sarà a lui superiore.	14 The foolish will be filled up by his own ways. And the good man shall be above him.
15 Il semplice crede ad ogni parola, l'accorto guarda dove mette i piedi. Per il figlio senza sincerità non ci sarà bene, al servo saggio prospereranno gli affari e ne saran felici le vie.	15 The innocent trust every word. The astute one considers his own steps. Nothing good will be for the deceitful son. But the wise servant shall act prosperously and his way will be set in order.
16 Il Il saggio teme e schiva il male, lo stolto salta avanti presuntuoso.	16 The wise fear, and so turn away from evil. The foolish leap ahead with confidence.
17 L'impaziente agirà da stolto, diventa odioso l'uomo astuto.	17 The impatient will work foolishness. And a resourceful man is hated.
18 I semplicioni avranno in possesso la stoltezza, gli uomini accorti aspetteranno la scienza.	18 The childish will possess foolishness, and the discerning will anticipate knowledge.
19 Giaceranno i cattivi ai piedi dei buoni, e gli empi dinanzi alle porte dei giusti.	19 The evil will fall down before the good. And the impious will fall down before the gates of the just.
20 Il povero è odiato anche dai congiunti, invece i ricchi han molti amici.	20 The pauper will be hated, even by his own neighbor. Yet truly, the friends of the wealthy are many.
21 Chi disprezza il suo prossimo pecca, chi ha pietà del povero sarà beato. Chi crede nel Signore ama la misericordia.	21 Whoever despises his neighbor, sins. But whoever pities the poor shall be blessed. Whoever trusts in the Lord loves mercy.
22 Son fuor di strada quelli che fanno il male. La misericordia e la verità preparano i beni.	22 They wander astray who work evil. But mercy and truth prepare good things.
23 Dove si lavora ci sarà abbondanza, dove son molte chiacchiere v'è spesso l'indigenza.	23 In every work, there shall be abundance. But where there are many words, there is often need.
24 Corona dei saggi son le loro ricchezze, la follia degli stolti resta follia.	24 The crown of the wise is their wealth. The senselessness of the foolish is imprudence.
25 Il testimonio fedele libera delle vite, il finto spaccia menzogne.	25 A faithful witness frees souls. And the chameleon utters lies.
26 Nel timore del Signore v'è incrollabile fiducia, e i suoi figli avran da sperare.	26 In the fear of the Lord is the faithfulness of strength, and there shall be hope for his sons.
27 Il timor del Signore è fonte di vita, e fa evitare la rovina della morte.	27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so as to turn aside from the ruin of death.
28 Nel gran numero del popolo sta la dignità del re, nella scarsità dei sudditi l'ignominia del principe.	28 In a multitude of people, there is dignity for the king. And in a paucity of people, there is disgrace for the prince.
29 Chi è paziente si governa con molta prudenza, ma l'impaziente proclama la sua stoltezza.	29 Whoever is patient is governed by much prudence. But whoever is impatient exalts his foolishness.
30 Un cuore sano è la vita del corpo, l'invidia è la carie delle ossa.	30 The well-being of the heart is life for the flesh. But envy is decay for the bones.
31 Chi opprime il povero insulta chi l'ha creato, chi invece ha compassione del povero lo onora.	31 Whoever slanders the indigent argues against his Maker. But he who has compassion on the poor honors his Maker.
32 L'empio sarà travolto dalla sua malizia, il giusto in punto di morte è pieno di speranza.	32 The impious will be expelled in his malice. But the just finds hope even in his own death.
33 La sapienza riposa nel cuore del prudente, ed istruirà anche gli ignoranti.	33 In the heart of the prudent, wisdom finds rest. And so shall he instruct all the uneducated.
34 La giustizia fa grande una nazione, ma il peccato rende infelici i popoli.	34 Justice elevates a nation. But sin makes the peoples miserable.
35 E' accetto al re il ministro intelligente, ma quello buono a nulla ne proverà lo sdegno.	35 An intelligent minister is acceptable to the king. Whoever is useless shall bear his wrath.
