1 La donna saggia edifica la sua casa, la stolta, anche se edificata, la distrugge colle proprie mani.	1 Wisdom builds her house, but Folly tears hers down with her own hands.
2 Chi cammina per la via retta e teme Dio, è disprezzato da colui che va per la via infame.	2 He who walks uprightly fears the LORD, but he who is devious in his ways spurns him.
3 Nella bocca dello stolto c'è la verga della superbia, ma le labbra dei sapienti son la loro guardia.	3 In the mouth of the fool is a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise preserve them.
4 Se mancano i buoi la mangiatoia è vuota, dove son abbondanti raccolte si manifesta la forza del bove.	4 Where there are no oxen, the crib remains empty; but large crops come through the strength of the bull.
5 Si testimone fedele non mentisce, ma il falso testimone spaccia menzogne.	5 A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness utters lies.
6 Il beffardo cerca la sapienza e non la trova, per i prudenti è facile istruirsi.	6 The senseless man seeks in vain for wisdom, but knowledge is easy to the man of intelligence.
7 Va lungi dallo stolto: egli non conosce i dettami della prudenza.	7 To avoid the foolish man, take steps! But knowing lips one meets with by surprise.
8 La sapienza dell'accorto sta nel conoscere la sua strada, l'imprudenza degli stolti la fa sbagliare.	8 The shrewd man's wisdom gives him knowledge of his way, but the folly of fools is their deception.
9 Lo stolto si burlerà del peccato, ma fra i giusti dimorerà la grazia.	9 Guilt lodges in the tents of the arrogant, but favor in the house of the just.
10 E' il cuore che conosce le amarezze dell'anima sua: alla sua gioia non può partecipare un estraneo.	10 The heart knows its own bitterness, and in its joy no one else shares.
11 La casa degli empi sarà distrutta, ma le tendo dei giusti saran floride.	11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 C'è una via che all'uomo sembra giusta, ma finisce col menare alla morte.	12 Sometimes a way seems right to a man, but the end of it leads to death!
13 Il riso sarà mescolato col dolore, il pianto succederà all'allegrezza.	13 Even in laughter the heart may be sad, and the end of joy may be sorrow.
14 Lo stolto sarà soddisfatto della sua condotta, ma il virtuoso sarà a lui superiore.	14 The scoundrel suffers the consequences of his ways, and the good man reaps the fruit of his paths.
15 Il semplice crede ad ogni parola, l'accorto guarda dove mette i piedi. Per il figlio senza sincerità non ci sarà bene, al servo saggio prospereranno gli affari e ne saran felici le vie.	15 The simpleton believes everything, but the shrewd man measures his steps.
16 Il Il saggio teme e schiva il male, lo stolto salta avanti presuntuoso.	16 The wise man is cautious and shuns evil; the fool is reckless and sure of himself.
17 L'impaziente agirà da stolto, diventa odioso l'uomo astuto.	17 The quick-tempered man makes a fool of himself, but the prudent man is at peace.
18 I semplicioni avranno in possesso la stoltezza, gli uomini accorti aspetteranno la scienza.	18 The adornment of simpletons is folly, but shrewd men gain the crown of knowledge.
19 Giaceranno i cattivi ai piedi dei buoni, e gli empi dinanzi alle porte dei giusti.	19 Evil men must bow down before the good, and the wicked, at the gates of the just.
20 Il povero è odiato anche dai congiunti, invece i ricchi han molti amici.	20 Even by his neighbor the poor man is hated, but the friends of the rich are many.
21 Chi disprezza il suo prossimo pecca, chi ha pietà del povero sarà beato. Chi crede nel Signore ama la misericordia.	21 He sins who despises the hungry; but happy is he who is kind to the poor!
22 Son fuor di strada quelli che fanno il male. La misericordia e la verità preparano i beni.	22 Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those intent on good gain kindness and constancy.
23 Dove si lavora ci sarà abbondanza, dove son molte chiacchiere v'è spesso l'indigenza.	23 In all labor there is profit, but mere talk tends only to penury.
24 Corona dei saggi son le loro ricchezze, la follia degli stolti resta follia.	24 The crown of the wise is resourcefulness; the diadem of fools is folly.
25 Il testimonio fedele libera delle vite, il finto spaccia menzogne.	25 The truthful witness saves lives, but he who utters lies is a betrayer.
26 Nel timore del Signore v'è incrollabile fiducia, e i suoi figli avran da sperare.	26 In the fear of the LORD is a strong defense; even for one's children he will be a refuge.
27 Il timor del Signore è fonte di vita, e fa evitare la rovina della morte.	27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that a man may avoid the snares of death.
28 Nel gran numero del popolo sta la dignità del re, nella scarsità dei sudditi l'ignominia del principe.	28 In many subjects lies the glory of the king; but if his people are few, it is the prince's ruin.
29 Chi è paziente si governa con molta prudenza, ma l'impaziente proclama la sua stoltezza.	29 The patient man shows much good sense, but the quick-tempered man displays folly at its height.
30 Un cuore sano è la vita del corpo, l'invidia è la carie delle ossa.	30 A tranquil mind gives life to the body, but jealousy rots the bones.
31 Chi opprime il povero insulta chi l'ha creato, chi invece ha compassione del povero lo onora.	31 He who oppresses the poor blasphemes his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy glorifies him.
32 L'empio sarà travolto dalla sua malizia, il giusto in punto di morte è pieno di speranza.	32 The wicked man is overthrown by his wickedness, but the just man finds a refuge in his honesty.
33 La sapienza riposa nel cuore del prudente, ed istruirà anche gli ignoranti.	33 In the heart of the intelligent wisdom abides, but in the bosom of fools it is unknown.
34 La giustizia fa grande una nazione, ma il peccato rende infelici i popoli.	34 Virtue exalts a nation, but sin is a people's disgrace.
35 E' accetto al re il ministro intelligente, ma quello buono a nulla ne proverà lo sdegno.	35 The king favors the intelligent servant, but the worthless one incurs his wrath.
