Siracide 15

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Chi teme il Signore farà tutto questo, chi è saldo nella legge otterrà la sapienza.	1 Whoever fears the Lord wil act like this, and whoever grasps the Law wil obtain wisdom.
2 Ella gli andrà incontro come una madre, lo accoglierà come una vergine sposa;	2 She will come to meet him like a mother, and receive him like a virgin bride.
3 lo nutrirà con il pane dell’intelligenza e lo disseterà con l’acqua della sapienza.	3 She will give him the bread of understanding to eat, and the water of wisdom to drink.
4 Egli si appoggerà a lei e non vacillerà, a lei si affiderà e non resterà confuso.	4 He will lean on her and wil not fal , he wil rely on her and not be put to shame.
5 Ella lo innalzerà sopra i suoi compagni e gli farà aprire bocca in mezzo all’assemblea.	5 She will raise him high above his neighbours, and in ful assembly she wil open his mouth.
6 Troverà gioia e una corona di esultanza e un nome eterno egli erediterà.	6 He will find happiness and a crown of joy, he wil inherit an everlasting name.
7 Gli stolti non raggiungeranno mai la sapienza e i peccatori non la contempleranno mai.	7 Fools wil not gain possession of her, nor will sinners set eyes on her.
8 Ella sta lontana dagli arroganti, e i bugiardi non si ricorderanno di lei.	8 She stands remote from pride, and liars cannot cal her to mind.
9 La lode non si addice in bocca al peccatore, perché non gli è stata concessa dal Signore.	9 Praise is unseemly in a sinner's mouth, since it has not been put there by the Lord.
10 La lode infatti va celebrata con sapienza ed è il Signore che la dirige.	10 For praise should be uttered only in wisdom, and the Lord himself then prompts it.
11 Non dire: «A causa del Signore sono venuto meno», perché egli non fa quello che detesta.	11 Do not say, 'The Lord was responsible for my sinning,' for he does not do what he hates.
12 Non dire: «Egli mi ha tratto in errore», perché non ha bisogno di un peccatore.	12 Do not say, 'It was he who led me astray,' for he has no use for a sinner.
13 Il Signore odia ogni abominio: esso non è amato da quelli che lo temono.	13 The Lord hates al that is foul, and no one who fears him will love it either.
14 Da principio Dio creò l’uomo e lo lasciò in balìa del suo proprio volere.	14 He himself made human beings in the beginning, and then left them free to make their own decisions.
15 Se tu vuoi, puoi osservare i comandamenti; l’essere fedele dipende dalla tua buona volontà.	15 If you choose, you will keep the commandments and so be faithful to his wil .
16 Egli ti ha posto davanti fuoco e acqua: là dove vuoi tendi la tua mano.	16 He has set fire and water before you; put out your hand to whichever you prefer.
17 Davanti agli uomini stanno la vita e la morte: a ognuno sarà dato ciò che a lui piacerà.	17 A human being has life and death before him; whichever he prefers wil be given him.
18 Grande infatti è la sapienza del Signore; forte e potente, egli vede ogni cosa.	18 For vast is the wisdom of the Lord; he is almighty and al -seeing.
19 I suoi occhi sono su coloro che lo temono, egli conosce ogni opera degli uomini.	19 His eyes are on those who fear him, he notes every human action.
20 A nessuno ha comandato di essere empio e a nessuno ha dato il permesso di peccare.	20 He never commanded anyone to be godless, he has given no one permission to sin.
