| 1 Poi Giacobbe chiamò i figli e disse: « Radunatevi perchè io vi annunci ciò che vi accadrà nei tempi futuri. | 1 And Jacob called his sons, and said to them: Gather yourselves together that I may tell you the things that shall befall you in the last days. |
| 2 Adunatevi e ascoltate, figli di Giacobbe, ascoltate Israele vostro padre! | 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, O ye sons of Jacob, hearken to Israel your father: |
| 3 Ruben, tu sei il mio primogenito, mio vigore e primizia della mia virilità, esuberante di fierezza ed esuberante di forza! | 3 Ruben, my firstborn, thou art my strength, and the beginning of my sorrow: excelling in gifts, greater in command. |
| 4 Bollente come l’acqua, tu non avrai preminenza, perchè sei salito sul letto di tuo padre e così hai violato il giaciglio sul quale egli era salito. | 4 Thou art poured out as water, grow thou not: because thou wentest up to thy father's bed, and didst defile his couch. |
| 5 Simeone e Levi sono fratelli, strumenti di violenza sono le loro spade. | 5 Simeon and Levi brethren: vessels of iniquity, waging war. |
| 6 Nel loro conciliabolo non entri la mia anima, alla loro assemblea non si unisca la mia gloria. Perchè nella loro collera uccisero uomini e nella loro arroganza mutilarono tori. | 6 Let not my soul go into their counsel, nor my glory be in their assembly: because in their fury they slew a man, and in their selfwill they undermined a wall. |
| 7 Maledetta la loro collera perchè violenta e il loro furore perchè crudele! lo li dividerò in Giacobbe e li disperderò in Israele. | 7 Cursed be their fury, because it was stubborn: and their wrath because it was cruel: I Will divide them in Jacob, and will scatter them in Israel. |
| 8 Giuda, te loderanno i tuoi fratelli; la tua mano sarà sulla cervice dei tuoi nemici; a te si prostreranno i figli di tuo padre. | 8 Juda, thee shall thy brethren praise: thy hands shall be on the necks of thy enemies: the sons of thy father shall bow down to thee. |
| 9 Un giovane leone è Giuda; dalla preda, figlio mio, tu risali: si rannicchia, si accovaccia come un leone e come una leonessa; chi lo può disturbare? | 9 Juda is a lion's whelp: to the prey, my son, thou art gone up: resting thou hast couched as a lion, and as a lioness, who shall rouse him? |
| 10 Non sarà tolto lo scettro da Giuda nè il bastone di comando tra i suol piedi, finchè non verrà colui al quale esso appartiene, al quale andrà l’obbedienza dei popoli. | 10 The sceptre shall not be taken away from Juda, nor a ruler from his thigh, till he come that is to be sent, and he shall be the expectation of nations. |
| 11 Egli lega alla vite il suo asinello e a una vite scelta il figlio della sua asina, lava nel vino la sua veste e nel sangue dell’uva il suo manto, | 11 Tying his foal to the vineyard, and his ass, 0 my son, to the vine. He shall wash his robe in wine, and his garment in the blood of the grape. |

| 24 ma è rimasto inconcusso il suo arco, e agili si sono mosse le sue braccia, per le mani del Potente di Giacobbe, per il nome del Pastore, Pietra di Israele. | 24 Joseph is a growing son, a growing son and comely to behold; the daughters run to and fro upon the wall. |
| 25 Per il Dio di tuo padre: egli ti aiuti! per El-Shaddai: egli ti benedica! Con benedizioni del cielo di sopra, benedizioni dell’abisso che giace sotto, benedizioni delle mammelle e della matrice. | 25 But they that held darts provoked him, and quarrelled with him, and envied him. |
| 26 Le benedizioni di tuo padre sono durature più delle benedizioni dei monti perenni, più delle attrattive dei colli eterni. | 30 nella caverna che si trova nel campo di Machpela, di fronte a Mambre, nella terra di Canaan, quella che Abramo comperò con il campo da Efron l’Hittita, quale proprietà funeraria. | 30 The blessings of thy father are strengthened with the blessings of his fathers: until the desire of the everlasting hills should come; may they be upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the Nazarite among his brethren. |

| 34 Over against Mambre in the land of Chanaan, which Abraham bought togather with the field of Ephron the Hethite for a possession to bury in. |
