1 En tus riquezas no te apoyes ni digas: «Tengo bastante con ellas».	1 Do not set your heart on your wealth, nor say, "I have enough."
2 No te dejes arrastrar por tu deseo y tu fuerza para seguir la pasión de tu corazón.	2 Do not follow your inclination and strength, walking according to the desires of your heart.
3 No digas: «¿Quién me domina a mí?», porque el Señor cierto que te castigará.	3 Do not say, "Who will have power over me?" for the Lord will surely punish you.
4 No digas: «Pequé, y ¿qué me ha pasado?», porque el Señor es paciente.	4 Do not say, "I sinned, and what happened to me?" for the Lord is slow to anger.
5 Del perdón no te sientas tan seguro que acumules pecado tras pecado.	5 Do not be so confident of atonement that you add sin to sin.
6 No digas: «Su compasión es grande, él me perdonará la multitud de mis pecados». Porque en él hay misericordia, pero también hay cólera, y en los pecadores se desahoga su furor.	6 Do not say, "His mercy is great, he will forgive the multitude of my sins," for both mercy and wrath are with him, and his anger rests on sinners.
7 No te tardes en volver al Señor, no lo difieras de un día para otro, pues de pronto salta la ira del Señor, y perecerás al tiempo del castigo.	7 Do not delay to turn to the Lord, nor postpone it from day to day; for suddenly the wrath of the Lord will go forth, and at the time of punishment you will perish.
8 No te apoyes en riquezas injustas, que de nada te servirán el día de la adversidad.	8 Do not depend on dishonest wealth, for it will not benefit you in the day of calamity.
9 No avientes a cualquier viento, ni vayas por cualquier senda, (así hace el pecador de lengua doble).	9 Do not winnow with every wind, nor follow every path: the double-tongued sinner does that.
10 Manténte firme en tu pensamiento, y sea una tu palabra.	10 Be steadfast in your understanding, and let your speech be consistent.
11 Sé pronto en escuchar, y tardo en responder.	11 Be quick to hear, and be deliberate in answering.
12 Si sabes alguna cosa, a tu prójimo responde, si no, pon tu mano en la boca.	12 If you have understanding, answer your neighbor; but if not, put your hand on your mouth.
13 Gloria y deshonra caben en el hablar, y en la lengua del hombre está su ruina.	13 Glory and dishonor come from speaking, and a man's tongue is his downfall.
14 Que no se te llame maldiciente, no pongas lazos con tu lengua, que sobre el ladrón cae la vergüenza, y dura condenación sobre la lengua doble.	14 Do not be called a slanderer, and do not lie in ambush with your tongue; for shame comes to the thief, and severe condemnation to the double-tongued.
15 Ni en lo grande ni en lo pequeño yerres, ni de amigo te vuelvas enemigo.	15 In great and small matters do not act amiss, and do not become an enemy instead of a friend.
