1 [Ein Wallfahrtslied.] Sie haben mich oft bedrängt von Jugend auf - so soll Israel sagen -,	1 Blessed are all they that fear the Lord: that walk in his ways.
2 sie haben mich oft bedrängt von Jugend auf, doch sie konnten mich nicht bezwingen.	2 For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.
3 Die Pflüger haben auf meinem Rücken gepflügt, ihre langen Furchen gezogen.	3 Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house.
4 Doch der Herr ist gerecht, er hat die Stricke der Frevler zerhauen.	4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
5 Beschämt sollen alle weichen, alle, die Zion hassen.	5 May the Lord bless thee out of Sion: and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6 Sie sollen wie das Gras auf den Dächern sein, das verdorrt, noch bevor man es ausreißt.	6 And mayest thou see thy children's children, peace upon Israel.
7 Kein Schnitter kann seine Hand damit füllen, kein Garbenbinder den Arm.
8 Keiner, der vorübergeht, wird sagen: «Der Segen des Herrn sei mit euch.» - Wir aber segnen euch im Namen des Herrn.
