1 - Nell'anno che il Tartan venne contro Azoto, mandato da Sargon, re degli Assiri, e diede l'assalto alla città e la prese,	1 In the year that Tharthan entered into Azotus, when Sargon the king of the Assyrians had sent him, and he had fought against Azotus, and had taken it:
2 in quel tempo il Signore parlò per mezzo d'Isaia, figlio di Amos, dicendo: «Va', svestiti del sacco che hai sui fianchi, e cavati le calzature dai piedi». Ed egli così fece, andando scamiciato e scalzo.	2 At that same time the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaias the son of Amos, saying: Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and take off thy shoes from thy feet. And he did so, and went naked, and barefoot.
3 E il Signore disse: «Come il mio servo Isaia è andato nudo e scalzo per tre anni, segno fatidico e prodigioso sopra l'Egitto e l'Etiopia,	3 And the Lord said: As my servant Isaias hath walked, naked and barefoot, it shall be a sign and a wonder of three years upon Egypt, and upon Ethiopia,
4 così, una turba di schiavi di Egitto, e di esuli d'Etiopia, di giovani e di vecchi, condurrà il re degli Assiri, nuda e scalza colle natiche scoperte, in onta all'Egitto.	4 So shall the king of the Assyrians lead away the prisoners of Egypt, and the captivity of Ethiopia, young and old. naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered to the shame of Egypt.
5 E resteranno sbigottiti e confusi quelli che avranno posto la loro speranza nell'Etiopia e la loro gloria nell'Egitto.	5 And they shall be afraid, and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope, and of Egypt their glory.
6 E gli abitanti di questi lidi diranno in quel giorno: - Questa che era la nostra speranza, alla quale avevamo ricorso per aiuto, affinchè ci liberasse dalla presenza del re degli Assiri, eccola, e come potremmo scampare noi? -».	6 And the inhabitants of this isle shall say in that day: Lo this was our hope, to whom we fled for help, to deliver up from the face of the king of the Assyrians: and how shall we be able to escape?
