1 - Questa è la discendenza di Sem, Cam e Iafet, figli di Noè; nacquero ad essi dei figli dopo il diluvio.	1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and of the sons who were born to them after the great flood.
2 Figli di Iafet furono: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Iavan, Tubal, Mosoc e Tiras.	2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Figli di Gomer: Ascenez, Rifat e Togorma.	3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Figli di Iavan: Elisa e Tarsis, Cettim e Dodanim.	4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

10 Il suo regno fu da principio Babilonia, Arac, Acad e Calanne, nella terra di Sennaar.	10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar.
11 Da quella terra uscì in Assur, e vi edificò Ninive e le piazze della città, e Cale;	11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah,
12 poi ancora Resen fra Ninive e Cale, ed è una gran città.	12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city.
13 Mesraim poi originò Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, Neftuim,	13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14 Fetrusim e Casluim, dei quali derivarono Filistiim e Caftorim.	14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim.
15 Canaan poi generò Sidone suo primogenito, l'Heteo,	15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite,
16 il Jebuseo, l'Amorreo, il Gergeseo,	16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite,
17 l'Heveo, l'Araceo, il Sineo,	17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite,
18 l'Aradeo, il Samareo e l'Amateo; poi si dispersero i popoli Cananei.	18 and the Arvadian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite. And after this, the peoples of the Canaanites became widespread.
19 Ed i confini dei Cananei furono: da Sidone venendo verso Gerara, sino a Gaza; e venendo verso Sodoma, Gomorra, Adama e Seboim sino a Lesa.	19 And the borders of Chanaan went, as one travels, from Sidon to Gerar, even to Gaza, until one enters Sodom and Gomorrah, and from Admah and Zeboiim, even to Lesa.
20 Questi sono i figli di Cam, nelle loro parentele, lingue, generazioni, terre e genti.	20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.
21 Da Sem poi, stipite di tutta la discendenza di Heber, e fratello maggiore di Iafet, nacquero pure dei figli.	21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.
22 Figli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arfaad, Lud e Aram.	22 The sons of Shem were Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Figli di Aram: Us, Hul, Geter e Mes.	23 The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 Arfaad poi generò Sale, dal quale nacque Heber.	24 But truly, Arphaxad conceived Shelah, from whom was born Eber.
25 Nacquero poi ad Heber due figli; il nome di uno fu Faleg, perchè a' suoi giorni la terra fu spartita; e il nome del fratello, Iectan.	25 And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth became divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26 Il quale Iectan generò Elmodad, Salef, Asarmot, Iare,	26 This Joktan conceived Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, Jerah
27 Aduram, Uzal, Decla,	27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah,
28 Ebal, Abimael, Saba,	28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba
29 Ofir, Hevila e Iobab; tutti questi figli di Iectam.	29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
30 La regione da essi abitata s'estendeva da Messa fino al monte orientale di Sefar.	30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east.
31 Questi sono i figli di Sem, secondo le loro famiglie, lingue, regioni, e genti.	31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations.
32 Son queste le discendenze da Noè, secondo i loro popoli e nazioni. Da esse si diramarono sulla terra le genti, dopo il diluvio.	32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood.
