2 se il Signore non fosse stato con noi, quando uomini ci assalirono,	2 in Jerusalem. Mountains surround it. And the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forward and even forever.
3 ci avrebbero inghiottiti vivi, nel furore della loro ira.	3 For the Lord will not allow the rod of sinners to remain over the lot of the just, so that the just may not extend their hands toward iniquity.
4 Le acque ci avrebbero travolti; un torrente ci avrebbe sommersi,	4 Do good, O Lord, to the good and to the upright of heart.
5 ci avrebbero travolti acque impetuose.	5 But those who turn away into obligation, the Lord will lead away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.
6 Sia benedetto il Signore, che non ci ha lasciati, in preda ai loro denti.
7 Noi siamo stati liberati come un uccello dal laccio dei cacciatori: il laccio si è spezzato e noi siamo scampati.
8 Il nostro aiuto è nel nome del Signore che ha fatto cielo e terra.
