Psalmen 37

1 [Von David.]Errege dich nicht über die Bösen, wegen der Übeltäter ereifere dich nicht!	1 A Psalm of David. Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 Denn sie verwelken schnell wie das Gras, wie grünes Kraut verdorren sie.	2 For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Vertrau auf den Herrn und tu das Gute, bleib wohnen im Land und bewahre Treue!	3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.
4 Freu dich innig am Herrn! Dann gibt er dir, was dein Herz begehrt.	4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Befiehl dem Herrn deinen Weg und vertrau ihm; er wird es fügen.	5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
6 Er bringt deine Gerechtigkeit heraus wie das Licht und dein Recht so hell wie den Mittag.	6 He will bring forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday.
7 Sei still vor dem Herrn und harre auf ihn! Erhitze dich nicht über den Mann, dem alles gelingt, den Mann, der auf Ränke sinnt.	7 Be still before the LORD, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
8 Steh ab vom Zorn und lass den Grimm; erhitze dich nicht, es führt nur zu Bösem.	8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
9 Denn die Bösen werden ausgetilgt; die aber auf den Herrn hoffen, werden das Land besitzen.	9 For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land.
10 Eine Weile noch und der Frevler ist nicht mehr da; schaust du nach seiner Wohnung - sie ist nicht mehr zu finden.	10 Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look well at his place, he will not be there.
11 Doch die Armen werden das Land bekommen, sie werden Glück in Fülle genießen.	11 But the meek shall possess the land, and delight themselves in abundant prosperity.
12 Der Frevler sinnt auf Ränke gegen den Gerechten und knirscht gegen ihn mit den Zähnen.	12 The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him;
13 Der Herr verlacht ihn, denn er sieht, dass sein Tag kommt.	13 but the LORD laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Die Frevler zücken das Schwert und spannen ihren Bogen; sie wollen den Schwachen und Armen fällen und alle hinschlachten, die den rechten Weg gehn.	14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows, to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly;
15 Ihr Schwert dringe in ihr eigenes Herz und ihre Bogen sollen zerbrechen.	15 their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 Besser das wenige, das der Gerechte besitzt, als der Überfluss vieler Frevler.	16 Better is a little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked.
17 Denn die Arme der Frevler werden zerschmettert, doch die Gerechten stützt der Herr.	17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the righteous.
18 Der Herr kennt die Tage der Bewährten, ihr Erbe hat ewig Bestand.	18 The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide for ever;
19 In bösen Zeiten werden sie nicht zuschanden, sie werden satt in den Tagen des Hungers.	19 they are not put to shame in evil times, in the days of famine they have abundance.
20 Doch die Frevler gehen zugrunde, die Feinde des Herrn sind wie die Pracht der Auen: Sie schwinden dahin, wie Rauch schwinden sie hin.	20 But the wicked perish; the enemies of the LORD are like the glory of the pastures, they vanish--like smoke they vanish away.
21 Der Frevler muss borgen und kann nicht bezahlen, doch freigebig schenkt der Gerechte.	21 The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;
22 Denn wen der Herr segnet, der wird das Land besitzen, aber wen er verflucht, der wird ausgetilgt.	22 for those blessed by the LORD shall possess the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 Der Herr festigt die Schritte des Mannes, er hat Gefallen an seinem Weg.	23 The steps of a man are from the LORD, and he establishes him in whose way he delights;
24 Auch wenn er strauchelt, stürzt er nicht hin; denn der Herr hält ihn fest an der Hand.	24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD is the stay of his hand.
25 Einst war ich jung, nun bin ich alt, nie sah ich einen Gerechten verlassen noch seine Kinder betteln um Brot.	25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread.
26 Allzeit ist er mildtätig, gern leiht er aus, seine Kinder werden zum Segen.	26 He is ever giving liberally and lending, and his children become a blessing.
27 Meide das Böse und tu das Gute, so bleibst du wohnen für immer.	27 Depart from evil, and do good; so shall you abide for ever.
28 Denn der Herr liebt das Recht und verlässt seine Frommen nicht. Doch das Geschlecht der Frevler wird ausgetilgt, sie werden für immer vernichtet.	28 For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. The righteous shall be preserved for ever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 Die Gerechten werden das Land besitzen und darin wohnen für alle Zeiten.	29 The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever.
30 Der Mund des Gerechten bewegt Worte der Weisheit und seine Zunge redet, was recht ist.	30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
31 Er hat die Weisung seines Gottes im Herzen, seine Schritte wanken nicht.	31 The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
32 Der Frevler belauert den Gerechten und sucht ihn zu töten.	32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.
33 Der Herr überlässt ihn nicht seiner Hand, lässt nicht zu, dass man ihn vor Gericht verurteilt.	33 The LORD will not abandon him to his power, or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
34 Hoffe auf den Herrn und bleib auf seinem Weg! Er wird dich erhöhen zum Erben des Landes; du wirst sehen, wie der Frevler vernichtet wird.	34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked.
35 Ich sah einen Frevler, bereit zu Gewalttat; er reckte sich hoch wie eine grünende Zeder.	35 I have seen a wicked man overbearing, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 Wieder ging ich vorüber und er war nicht mehr da; ich suchte ihn, doch er war nicht zu finden.	36 Again I passed by, and, lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.
37 Achte auf den Frommen und schau auf den Redlichen! Denn Zukunft hat der Mann des Friedens.	37 Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the man of peace.
38 Die Sünder aber werden alle zusammen vernichtet; die Zukunft der Frevler ist Untergang.	38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 Die Rettung der Gerechten kommt vom Herrn, er ist ihre Zuflucht in Zeiten der Not.	39 The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their refuge in the time of trouble.
40 Der Herr hilft ihnen und rettet sie, er rettet sie vor den Frevlern; er schenkt ihnen Heil, denn sie suchen Zuflucht bei ihm.	40 The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked, and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
