1 Hic est liber generationis Adam. In die qua creavit Deus homi nem, ad similitudinem Dei fecit illum.	1 This is the rol of Adam's descendants: On the day that God created Adam he made him in the likenessof God.
2 Masculum et feminam creavit eos et benedixit illis; et vocavit nomen eorum Adam in die, quo creati sunt.	2 Male and female he created them. He blessed them and gave them the name Man, when they werecreated.
3 Vixit autem Adam centum triginta annis et genuit ad similitudinem et imaginem suam vocavitque nomen eius Seth.	3 When Adam was a hundred and thirty years old he fathered a son, in his likeness, after his image, andhe cal ed him Seth.
4 Et facti sunt dies Adam, postquam genuit Seth, octingenti anni, genuitque filios et filias.	4 Adam lived for eight hundred years after the birth of Seth and he fathered sons and daughters.
5 Et factum est omne tempus, quod vixit Adam, anni nongenti triginta, et mortuus est.	5 In al , Adam lived for nine hundred and thirty years; then he died.
6 Vixit quoque Seth centum quinque annos et genuit Enos.	6 When Seth was a hundred and five years old he fathered Enosh.

18 Vixitque Iared centum sexaginta duobus annis et genuit Henoch.	18 When Jared was a hundred and sixty-two years old he fathered Enoch.

22 Et ambulavit Henoch cum Deo, postquam genuit Mathusalam, trecentis annis et genuit filios et filias.	22 Enoch walked with God. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived for three hundred years and hefathered sons and daughters.
23 Et facti sunt omnes dies Henoch trecenti sexaginta quinque anni,	23 In al , Enoch lived for three hundred and sixty-five years.
24 ambulavitque cum Deo et non apparuit, quia tulit eum Deus.	24 Enoch walked with God, then was no more, because God took him.
25 Vixit quoque Mathusala centum octoginta septem annos et genuit Lamech.	25 When Methuselah was a hundred and eighty-seven years old he fathered Lamech.
26 Et vixit Mathusala, postquam genuit Lamech, septingentos octoginta duos annos et genuit filios et filias.	26 After the birth of Lamech, Methuselah lived for seven hundred and eighty-two years and he fatheredsons and daughters.
27 Et facti sunt omnes dies Mathusalae nongenti sexaginta novem anni, et mortuus est.	27 In al , Methuselah lived for nine hundred and sixty-nine years; then he died.
28 Vixit autem Lamech centum octoginta duobus annis et genuit filium	28 When Lamech was a hundred and eighty-two years old he fathered a son.
29 vocavitque nomen eius Noe dicens: “Iste consolabitur nos ab operibus nostris et labore manuum nostrarum in agro, cui maledixit Dominus”.	29 He gave him the name Noah because, he said, 'Here is one who wil give us, in the midst of our toiland the labouring of our hands, a consolation out of the very soil that Yahweh cursed.'
30 Vixitque Lamech, postquam genuit Noe, quingentos nonaginta quinque annos et genuit filios et filias.	30 After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived for five hundred and ninety-five years and fathered sons anddaughters.
31 Et facti sunt omnes dies Lamech septingenti septuaginta septem anni, et mortuus est.	31 In al , Lamech lived for seven hundred and seventy-seven years; then he died.
32 Noe vero, cum quingentorum esset annorum, genuit Sem, Cham et Iapheth.	32 When Noah was five hundred years old he fathered Shem, Ham and Japheth.
