1 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Va’ a trovare Faraone, e di’ a lui: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio degli Ebrei: Lascia andare il mio popolo ad offerirmi sacrifizio.	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Go to Pharaoh and say to him, "Yahweh, God of the Hebrews, says this:Let my people go and worship me.
2 Che se tu ancor sei restio, e lo rattieni,	2 If you refuse to let them go and detain them any longer,
3 Ecco che la mano mia si farà sentire sopra i tuoi campi, e sopra i cavalli, e gli asini, e i cammelli, e i bovi, e le pecore con atroce pestilenza.	3 look, the hand of Yahweh wil strike your livestock in the fields, horses, donkeys, camels, oxen andflocks with a deadly plague.
4 E il Signore farà questo miracolo riguardo a quello che posseggono gl'Israeliti, e quello che posseggono gli Egiziani, che nulla perirà di quel che appartiene a' figliuoli d'Israele.	4 Yahweh wil discriminate between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt: nothing of whatbelongs to the Israelites will die.
5 E il Signore fissò il tempo, dicendo: domane il Signore adempirà questa parola sopra questa terra.	5 Yahweh has fixed the time. Tomorrow, he has said, Yahweh will do this in the country." '
6 Il Signore adunque fece il dì seguente quel che avea detto; e perirono tutti gli animali degli Egiziani: ma degli animali de' figliuoli d'Israele non ne perì uno.	6 Next day Yahweh did this: al the Egyptians' livestock died, but nothing of the livestock owned by theIsraelites died.
7 E Faraone mandò a vedere: e non era morto nulla di quel che possedeva Israele. E si indurò il cuore di Faraone, e non lasciò partire il popolo.	7 Pharaoh had enquiries made, and found that of the livestock owned by the Israelites not a single beasthad died. But Pharaoh was obstinate and did not let the people go.
8 E il Signore disse a Mosè, e ad Aronne: Alzate le mani piene di cenere del focolare, e Mosè la sparga verso del cielo alla presenza di Faraone.	8 Yahweh then said to Moses and Aaron, 'Take handfuls of soot from the kiln, and before Pharaoh's eyeslet Moses throw it in the air.
9 E la polvere si spanda per tutta la terra d'Egitto, e ne verranno agli uomini, e ai giumenti ulcere, e grossi tumori per tutta la terra di Egitto.	9 It will turn into fine dust over the whole of Egypt and produce boils breaking into sores on man andbeast throughout the whole of Egypt.'
10 E presero la cenere del focolare, e si presentarono a Faraone, e Mosè la sparse per l'aria: e ne vennero ulcere, e grossi tumori agli uomini, e ai giumenti.	10 So they took soot from the kiln and stood in front of Pharaoh, and Moses threw it in the air, and onman and beast it brought out boils breaking into sores.
11 E i maghi non potevano stare dinanzi a Mosè per ragione delle ulcere, che erano addosso a loro, come a tutta la terra d'Egitto.	11 And the magicians could not compete with Moses in the matter of the boils, for the magicians werecovered with boils like al the other Egyptians.
12 E il Signore indurò il cuore di Faraone, e non gli ascoltò, come il Signore avea detto a Mosè.	12 But Yahweh made Pharaoh stubborn and, as Yahweh had foretold to Moses, he did not listen to them.
13 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Levati di buon mattino, e presentati a Faraone, e gli dirai: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio degli Ebrei: Lascia, che il mio popolo vada ad offerirmi sacrifizio.	13 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh. Say to him, "Yahweh,God of the Hebrews, says this: Let my people go and worship me.
14 Perocché io questa volta manderò sul tuo cuore tutti i miei flagelli, e sopra i tuoi servi, e sopra il tuo popolo: affinché tu conosca, che non havvi simile a me in tutta la terra.	14 For this time I am going to inflict al my plagues on you, on your officials and on your subjects, so thatyou wil know that there is no one like me in the whole world.
15 Conciossiaché adesso stendendo la mano percuoterò di peste te, e il tuo popolo, e tu sarai sterminato dalla terra.	15 Had I stretched out my hand to strike you and your subjects with pestilence, you would have beenswept from the earth.
16 E a questo fine ti ho sostentato per dimostrare in te la mia possanza, onde celebrato sia il nome mio per tutta la terra.	16 But I have let you survive for this reason: to display my power to you and to have my name talked ofthroughout the world.
17 Tu rattieni tuttora il mio popolo, e nol vuoi lasciar partire?	17 Since you take a high hand with my people, refusing to let them go,
18 Ecco che io domani in questa stess'ora pioverò grandine senza misura, quale mai non fu in Egitto, dacché fu abitato fino al dì d'oggi.	18 very wel , at about this time tomorrow, I shal cause so severe a hail to fal as was never known inEgypt from the day of its foundation until now.
19 Manda adunque sin da adesso a raunare i tuoi giumenti, e tutto quello che hai in campagna, perocché egli uomini, e i giumenti, e tutto quello che troverassi fuori, e non sia ritirato dalla campagna, venendogli sopra la grandine, perirà.	19 So now send word to have your livestock and everything else you own in the fields put under cover.On man or beast, al that happen to be in the fields and are not brought indoors, the hail will fal and they wildie." '
20 Que' servi di Faraone, che ebbero timore della parola, del Signore, fecero che i loro servi, e i giumenti si fuggissero nelle case.	20 Those of Pharaoh's officials who respected what Yahweh said, brought their slaves and livestockindoors,
21 Ma quelli che non fecero conto della parola del Signore, lasciarono stare i loro servi, e i giumenti alla campagna.	21 but those who did not take to heart what Yahweh said left their slaves and livestock in the fields.
22 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Stendi la tua mano verso del cielo, affinché cada grandine in tutta la terra d'Egitto, sopra gli uomini, e sopra i giumenti, e sopra tutte l'erbe dei campi della terra d'Egitto.	22 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand towards heaven so that it hails throughout thewhole of Egypt, on man and beast and on everything growing anywhere in Egypt.'
23 E Mosè stese la verga verso del cielo: e il Signore mandò tuoni, e grandine, e folgori, che volteggiavano sopra la terra: e il Signore piovve grandine sopra l'Egitto.	23 Moses stretched out his staff towards heaven, and Yahweh thundered and rained down hail. Lightningstruck the earth and Yahweh rained down hail on Egypt.
24 E la grandine, e il fuoco cadevano misti insieme: e quella fu di tale grandezza, che eguale non si vide giammai in tutta la terra d'Egitto, dacché fu fondata quella nazione.	24 And so there was hail, and lightning accompanied the hail, very severe, such as had never beenknown anywhere in Egypt since it first became a nation.
25 E la grandine flagellò in tutta la terra d'Egitto quanto vi era alla campagna dagli uomini fino a' giumenti: e tutte l'erbe dei campi furon flagellate dalla grandine, e spezzata ogni pianta.	25 Al over Egypt the hail struck down everything in the fields, man and beast, and the hail beat downeverything growing in the fields and shattered al the trees in the fields.
26 Solamente nella terra di Gessen, dove stavano i figliuoli d'Israele, non cadde grandine.	26 The only place where there was no hail was in the Goshen region, where the Israelites lived.
27 E Faraone mandò a chiamar Mosè e Aronne, e disse loro: Ho peccato anche adesso: giusto è il Signore: Io, e il mio popolo siam empi.	27 Pharaoh then sent for Moses and Aaron and said, 'This time, I have sinned. Yahweh is in the right; Iand my subjects are in the wrong.
28 Pregate il Signore affinché cessino i gran tuoni, e la grandine: affinché io vi lasci andare, e non restiate più qua.	28 Pray to Yahweh, for we cannot bear any more of this thunder and hail. I promise to let you go. Youneed stay no longer.'
29 Disse Mosè: Uscito che io sia dalla città, stenderò le mie mani al Signore, e cesseranno i tuoni, e non grandinerà più: affinché tu conosca, che del Signore è la terra.	29 Moses said to him, 'The moment I leave the city I shal stretch out my hands to Yahweh. The thunderwil stop, and there wil be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth belongs to Yahweh.
30 Ma io ben so, che tu, e i tuoi servi non temete ancora il Signore Dio.	30 But as for you and your officials, I know very wel that you stil have no respect for Yahweh God.'
31 Fu adunque guastato il lino, e l'orzo, perché l'orzo era verde, e il lino faceva il seme.	31 The flax and the barley were ruined, since the barley was in the ear and the flax in bud,
32 Il grano però, e il farro non furono danneggiati, perché sono serotini.	32 but the wheat and spelt were not destroyed, being late crops.
33 E partitosi da Faraone Mosè, e dalla città, stese le mani al Signore, e cessarono i tuoni, e la grandine; e non cadde più stilla di pioggia sopra la terra.	33 Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He stretched out his hands to Yahweh and the thunderand hail ceased and the rain stopped pouring down on the earth.
34 Ma Faraone veggendo, come era cessata la pioggia, e la grandine, e i tuoni, aggravò il suo peccato:	34 When Pharaoh saw that rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he relapsed into sin,
35 E si ostinò il cuore di lui, e de' suoi servi, e s'indurò formisura: e non lasciò partire i figliuoli d'Israele, come avea ordinato il Signore per mezzo di Mosè.	35 and he and his officials became obstinate again. Pharaoh was stubborn and, as Yahweh had foretoldthrough Moses, refused to let the Israelites go.
