BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E il Signore pronunziò tutte queste parole:	1 Then God spoke al these words. He said,
2 Io sono il Signore Dio tuo, che ti trassi dalla terra di Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù.	2 'I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you lived as slaves.
3 Non avrai altri dii dinanzi a me.	3 'You shal have no other gods to rival me.
4 Tu non ti farai scoltura, né rappresentazione alcuna di quel che è lassù in cielo, o quaggiù in terra, o nelle acque sotterra.	4 'You shal not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on earthbeneath or in the waters under the earth.
5 E non adorerai tali cose, né ad esse presterai culto: Io sono il Signore Dio tuo forte, geloso, che fo vendetta dell'iniquità de' padri sopra i figliuoli, fino alla terza e quarta generazione di coloro, che mi odiano:	5 'You shal not bow down to them or serve them. For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God and Ipunish a parent's fault in the children, the grandchildren, and the great-grandchildren among those who hate me;
6 E fo misericordia per migliaia (di generazioni) a coloro, che mi amano, e osservano i miei comandamenti.	6 but I act with faithful love towards thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 Non prendere in vano il nome del Signore Dio tuo: perocché il Signore non terrà per innocente colui, che prenderà invano il nome del Signore Dio suo.	7 'You shal not misuse the name of Yahweh your God, for Yahweh wil not leave unpunished anyonewho misuses his name.
8 Ricordati di santificare il giorno di sabato.	8 'Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
9 Per sei giorni lavorerai, e farai tutte le tue faccende.	9 For six days you shal labour and do al your work,
10 Il settimo giorno è il sabato del Signore Dio tuo: in questo non farai lavoro di sorta tu, e il tuo figliuolo, e la tua figliuola, il tuo servo, e la tua serva, il tuo giumento, e il forestiero, che sta dentro le tue porte.	10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. You shal do no work that day, neither younor your son nor your daughter nor your servants, men or women, nor your animals nor the alien living with you.
11 Imperocché in sei giorni fece il Signore il cielo e la terra, e il mare, e quanto in essi si contiene, e riposò il settimo giorno: per questo il Signore benedisse il giorno di sabato, e Io santificò.	11 For in six days Yahweh made the heavens, earth and sea and al that these contain, but on theseventh day he rested; that is why Yahweh has blessed the Sabbath day and made it sacred.
12 Onora il padre tuo, e la madre tua, affinché tu abbi lunga vita sopra la terra, la quale ti sarà data dal Signore Dio tuo.	12 'Honour your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land that Yahweh your God isgiving you.
13 Non ammazzare.	13 'You shal not kil .
14 Non fornicare.	14 'You shal not commit adultery.
15 Non rubare.	15 'You shal not steal.
16 Non dire il falso testimonio contro il tuo prossimo.	16 'You shal not give false evidence against your neighbour.
17 Non desiderare la casa del tuo prossimo, non desiderare la sua moglie, non lo schiavo, non la schiava, non il bue, non l'asino, né veruna delle cose, che a lui appartengono.	17 'You shal not set your heart on your neighbour's house. You shal not set your heart on yourneighbour's spouse, or servant, man or woman, or ox, or donkey, or any of your neighbour's possessions.'
18 E tutto il popolo sentiva le voci, e i folgori, e il suono della tromba, e il monte, che fumava: e atterriti e abbattuti dalla paura si stettero in lontananza,	18 Seeing the thunder pealing, the lightning flashing, the trumpet blasting and the mountain smoking,the people were al terrified and kept their distance.
19 Dicendo a Mosè: Parla tu a noi, e ascolteremo: non ci parli il Signore, affinché per disgrazia noi non muojamo.	19 'Speak to us yourself,' they said to Moses, 'and we wil obey; but do not let God speak to us, or weshall die.'
20 E Mosè disse al popolo: Non temete: imperocché Dio è venuto per far saggio di voi, e affinché sia in voi il suo timore, e non pecchiate.	20 Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid; God has come to test you, so that your fear of him, beingalways in your mind, may keep you from sinning.'
21 E il popolo si stette in lontananza: e Mosè si appressò alla caligine, in cui era Iddio.	21 So the people kept their distance while Moses approached the dark cloud where God was.
22 E disse ancora il Signore a Mosè: Queste cose dirai a' figliuoli d'Israele: Voi avete veduto, com'io vi ho parlato dal cielo.	22 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Tel the Israelites this, "You have seen for yourselves how I have spoken toyou from heaven.
23 Non farete dii di argento, né vi farete dii d'oro.	23 You must not make gods of silver to rival me, nor must you make yourselves gods of gold.
24 Farete a me un altare di terra, e sopra di questo offerirete gli olocausti, e le vostre ostie pacifiche, le vostre pecore, e i bovi in ogni luogo consacrato alla memoria del nome mio: verrò a te, e ti benedirò.	24 "You must make me an altar of earth on which to sacrifice your burnt offerings and communionsacrifices, your sheep and cattle. Wherever I choose to have my name remembered, I shal come to you andbless you.
25 Che se mi fabbricherai altare di pietra, nol farai di pietre tagliate: perché se alzerai sopra di esso lo scalpello, l'altare sarà contaminato.	25 If you make me an altar of stone, do not build it of dressed stones; for if you use a chisel on it, youwil profane it.
26 Al mio altare non salirai per gradini, affinché non si discuopra la tua nudità.	26 You must not go up to my altar by steps, in case you expose your nakedness on them." '
