1 Allora cantò Mosè, e i figliuoli d'Israele questa laude al Signore, dicendo: Diamo gloria al Signore, perocché egli si è gloriosamente esaltato; ha gettato nel mare il cavallo, e il cavaliere.	1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2 Mia fortezza, e oggetto delle mie lodi egli è il Signore, ed è stato mio salvatore: egli è il mio Dio, e io Io glorificherò: il Dio del mio padre, ed io lo esalterò.	2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
3 Il Signore qual forte campione: il suo nome è l'Onnipotente.	3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
4 Egli ha precipitati nel mare i cocchi di Faraone, e il suo esercito: i migliori suoi condottieri sono stati sommersi nel mar Rosso:	4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5 Sono sepolti negli abissi, son caduti nel profondo qual pietra.	5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6 La tua destra, o Signore, ha dimostrato una sovraggrande fortezza: la tua destra, o Signore, ha percosso il nemico.	6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7 E con la molta possanza tua hai dispersi i tuoi avversarii: l'ira tua fu spedita da te, la quale li divorò come paglia.	7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8 E al soffio del tuo furore si ammontarono le acque: l'onda corrente fermossi, si acquagliarono in mezzo al mare i flutti profondi.	8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 Il nemico avea detto: Inseguirò, e raggiungerò: dividerò le spoglie, le mie brame saran soddisfatte: sguainerò la mia spada, la mia mano gli ucciderà.	9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10 Soffiò il tuo spirito, e il mare li ricoperse: affondaron qual piombo nelle acque precipitose.	10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11 Chi de' forti è simile a te, o Signore? Chi è simile a te, glorioso nella santità, terribile e laudabile, operator di prodigii?	11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 Tu stendesti la mano, e la terra gl'ingoiò.	12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13 Tu nella tua misericordia fosti il condottiere del popolo, cui riscattasti: e colla tua fortezza Io hai portato fino al tuo santo soggiorno.	13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14 I popoli si son messi in movimento, e son pieni di sdegno: gli abitanti della Palestina sono in affanno.	14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15 I principi di Edom sono sbigottiti, tremano i campioni di Moab: tutti gli abitatori di Chanaan sono istupiditi.	15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16 Cada sopra di essi paura e spavento merce del tuo braccio grande: rimangano immobili come pietra, fino a tanto che passi, o Signore, il popol tuo, sino a tanto che passi questo tuo popolo, di cui tu sei il padrone.	16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17 Tu li condurrai colà, e li pianterai sul monte di tuo retaggio, nella sicurissima abitazione tua, che tu, o Signore, ti sei fabbricata: nel tuo santuario fondato, o Signore, dalle tue mani.	17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
18 Il Signore regnerà pe' secoli, e ancor di là.	18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
19 Imperocché entrò il cavaliere Faraone coi suoi cocchi e co' suoi cavalieri nel mare: e il Signore ripiegò sopra di loro le acque del mare: ma i figliuoli d'Israele camminaron per esse a piedi asciutti.	19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20 Allora Maria profetessa, sorella di Aronne, prese in mano un timpano: e tutte le donne le andarono dietro coi timpani, tessendo carole,	20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21 Tra le quali ella intonava, dicendo: Diamo laude al Signore; perocché egli si è gloriosamente esaltato: ha gettato nel mare il cavallo e il cavaliere.	21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22 Or Mosè menò via gl'Israeliti dal mar Rosso, ed entrarono nel deserto di Sur: e camminarono tre dì nella solitudine, e non trovavano acqua.	22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 E giunsero a Mara, e non potevano bere le acque di Mara per la loro amarezza: donde pose egli conveniente nome a quel luogo, chiamandolo Mara, cioè Amarezza.	23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 E mormorò il popolo contro Mosè, dicendo: Che berem noi?	24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 Ma egli alzò sue voci al Signore, e fugli da lui mostrato un legno: il quale dopo che da lui fu gettato nelle acque, si addolcirono. In questo luogo (Dio) diede loro alcuni precetti, e leggi, e ivi fece prova di essi.	25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26 E disse: Se tu udirai la voce del Signore Dio tuo, e farai quello che è giusto negli occhi di lui, e obbedirai ai suoi comandi, e osserverai tutti i suoi insegnamenti, io non manderò sopra di te alcuno de' mali, onde ho aggravato l'Egitto: perocché io il Signore tuo medico.	26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
27 Giunsero di poi i figliuoli d'Israele ad Elim, dov' erano dodici fontane di acque, e settanta palme: e posero gli alloggiamenti in vicinanza delle acque.	27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
