BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 E' dell'uomo preparare l'animo, e del Signore governare la lingua.	1 A human heart makes the plans, Yahweh gives the answer.
2 Tutte le vie dell'uomo sono a lui manifeste: il Signore pesa gli spiriti.	2 A person's own acts seem right to the doer, but Yahweh is the weigher of souls.
3 Raccomanda al Signore le tue opere, e i tuoi disegni riusciranno.	3 Commend what you do to Yahweh, and what you plan wil be achieved.
4 Il Signore ha fatto tutte le cose per se stesso, ed anche l'empio pel giorno della rovina.	4 Yahweh made everything for its own purpose, yes, even the wicked for the day of disaster.
5 Il Signore abbomina tutti gli arroganti, anche se stanno colle mani in mano non resteranno impuniti. E' principio della buona via praticar la giustizia, che è accetta davanti a Dio più delle vittime.	5 Every arrogant heart is abhorrent to Yahweh: be sure this wil not go unpunished.
6 Colla misericordia e colla fedeltà s'espian le colpe, e col timore del Signore s'evita il male.	6 By faithful love and constancy sin is expiated; by fear of Yahweh evil is avoided.
7 Quando al Signore piace la condotta dell'uomo, convertirà alla pace anche i di lui nemici.	7 Let Yahweh be pleased with someone's way of life and he makes that person's very enemies intofriends.
8 Meglio poco con giustizia, che grandi entrate con iniquità.	8 Better have little and with it uprightness than great revenues with injustice.
9 Il cuore dell'uomo fa i suoi disegni, ma sta a Dio dirigere i suoi passi.	9 The human heart may plan a course, but it is Yahweh who makes the steps secure.
10 Sulle labbra del re sta la sentenza divina, nel rendere giustizia la sua bocca non errerà,	10 The lips of the king utter prophecies, he keeps faith when he speaks in judgement.
11 Il peso e la bilancia sono stabiliti dal Signore, e sono opere di lui tutte le pietre del sacchetto.	11 The balances and scales belong to Yahweh, al the weights in the bag are of his making.
12 Il re ha in abbominio coloro che agiscono empiamente, perchè colla giustizia è reso stabile trono.	12 Evil-doing is abhorrent to kings, since uprightness is a throne's foundation.
13 Al re piacciono le labbra veritiere; chi parla rettamente sarà amato.	13 Upright lips are welcome to a king, he loves someone of honest words.
14 Lo sdegno del re è nunzio di morte, ma l'uomo saggio lo placherà.	14 The king's wrath is the herald of death, but the wise will appease it.
15 Il volto ilare del re dà la vita, e la sua clemenza è come pioggia primaverile.	15 When the king's face brightens it spel s life, his favour is like the rain in spring.
16 Acquista la sapienza, che e migliore dell'oro; acquista la prudenza, che vale più dell'argento.	16 Better gain wisdom than gold, choose understanding in preference to silver.
17 Il sentiero dei giusti evita il male, chi tien conto dell'anima sua guarda alla sua condotta.	17 To turn from evil is the way of the honest; whoever watches the path keeps life safe.
18 La superbia precede lo smacco, e lo spirito si esalta avanti la rovina.	18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fal .
19 Meglio essere umiliati coi mansueti, che spartir la preda coi superbi.	19 Better be humble with the poor than share the booty with the proud.
20 Chi è abile nel parlare si troverà bene, ma chi spera nel Signore è beato.	20 Whoever listens closely to the word finds happiness; whoever trusts Yahweh is blessed.
21 Chi ha la sapienza nel cuore sarà chiamato prudente, e chi è di dolce eloquio otterrà molto di più.	21 The wise of heart is acclaimed as intel igent, sweetness of speech increases knowledge.
22 L'istruzione è fonte di vita per chi la possiede, la dottrina degli stolti è sciocchezza.	22 Shrewdness is a fountain of life for its possessor, the fol y of fools is their own punishment.
23 Il cuore del sapiente ne rende assennata la bocca, ed aggiungerà grazia allo sue labbra.	23 The heart of the wise lends shrewdness to speech and makes words more persuasive.
24 Un bel parlare è favo di miele, dolcezza doll'anima, sanità delle ossa.	24 Kindly words are a honeycomb, sweet to the taste, wholesome to the body.
25 Vi è una via che all'uomo sembra diritta, ma in fondo va a finire nella morte.	25 There is a way that some think straight, but it leads in the end to death.
26 L'uomo che lavora, lavora per sè, perchè la sua bocca lo costringe.	26 A worker's appetite works on his behalf, for his hunger urges him on.
27 L'empio scava rovine, e sulle sue labbra sta un fuoco divoratore.	27 A worthless person concocts evil, such a one's talk is like a scorching fire.
28 L'uomo perverso suscita liti, il ciarliero mette la divisione tra i principi.	28 A troublemaker sows strife, a slanderer divides friend from friend.
29 L'uomo iniquo seduce il suo amico, e lo mena per strada non buona.	29 The violent lures his neighbour astray and leads him by a way that is not good.
30 Chi fissa gli occhi pensa a cose cattive, chi si morde le labbra manda ad effetto il male.	30 Whoever narrows the eyes to think up tricks and purses the lips has already done wrong.
31 La canizie è gloriosa corona che si troverà nelle vie della giustizia.	31 White hairs are a crown of honour, they are found in the ways of uprightness.
32 Il paziente vai più del forte, e chi sa comandare a se stesso vai più di chi espugna, città.	32 Better an equable person than a hero, someone with self-mastery than one who takes a city.
33 Le sorti si gettano in grembo, ma sono dirette dal Signore.	33 In the fold of the garment the lot is thrown, but from Yahweh comes the decision.
