BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Questa è la posterità dei figli di Noè: Sem, Cam e lafet, ai quali nacquero dei figlioli dopo il diluvio.	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:
2 Figli di Iafet: Corner, Magog, Madai, Iavan, Tubal, Mosoc e Tiras.	2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.
3 Figli di Gomer: Ascenez, Rifat e Togorma.	3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.
4 Figli di Ivaan: Elisa, Tarsis, Cettim e Dodanim.	4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.
5 E questi si divisero le isole delle genti nelle diverse regioni, ciascuno secondo la loro lingua e famiglia e nazione.	5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.
6 Figli di Cam: Cus, Mesraim, Fut e Canaan.	6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.
7 Figli di Cus: Saba, Evila, Sabata, Regina e Sabataca. Figli di Regina: Saba e Dadan.	7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.
8 Cus generò anche Nemtod, il quale cominciò ad esser potente sulla terra.	8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.
9 Egli fu gran cacciatore nel cospetto del Signore, tanto che ne nacque il proverbio: « Gran cacciatore nel cospetto del Signore come Nemrod ».	9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.
10 Principio del suo regno fu Babilonia, Arac, Achad e Calanne, nella terra di Sennaar.	10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 Dalla qual terra andò in Assiria, ove edificò Ninive, le piazze della città e Chale,	11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,
12 e tra Ninive e Chale, anche Resen, la gran città.	12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).
13 Mesraim poi generò Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, Neftuim,	13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,
14 Fetrusim e Casluim (dai quali vennero i Filistei) e Caftorim.	14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.
15 Canaan poi generò Sidone suo primogenito, l'Eteo,	15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,
16 il Gebuseo, l'Amorreo, il Gergeseo,	16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,
17 l'Eveo, l'Araceo, il Sineo,	17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 d'Aradeo, il Samareo, l'Amateo. Di poi i popoli dei Cananei si sparsero.	18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.
19 E i confini di Canaan andarono da Sidone, verso Gerara, fino a Gaza, e, verso Sodoma e Gomorra e Adama e Seboim, fino a Lesa.	19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.
20 Questi sono i figlioli di Cam, secondo le loro famiglie, le lingue, le generazioni, i paesi e le nazioni.	20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.
21 Anche a Sem, padre di tutti i figlioli di Eber, e fratello maggiore di Iafet, nacquero dei figli.	21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.
22 Figli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arfaxad, Lud e Aram.	22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.
23 Figli di Aram: Us, Hul, Geter e Mes.	23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.
24 Arfaxad poi generò Sale, da cui venne Eber.	24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.
25 E da Eber nacquero due figlioli: uno si chiamò Faleg, perchè a suo tempo fu divisa la terra; e il fratello di lui ebbe nome Iectan.	25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.
