BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Meglio un tozzo di pan secco in buona allegria, che una casa piena d'imbandigioni con discordia.	1 A dry morsel with gladness is better than a house full of sacrifices along with conflict.
2 Il servo saggio dominerà sui figli stoltie dividerà l'eredità con i fratelli.	2 A wise servant shall rule over foolish sons, and he will divide the inheritance among brothers.
3 Come l'argento si prova al fuoco e l'oro al fornello, così il Signore prova i cuori.	3 Just as silver is tested by fire, and gold is tested in the furnace, so also does the Lord test hearts.
4 Il malvagio ubbidisce alla lingua iniqua, e l'impostore dà retta alle labbra bugiarde.	4 The evil obey an unjust tongue. And the false are submissive to lying lips.
5 Chi disprezza il povero, oltraggia il suo fattore, e chi gode della rovina altrui, non andrà impunito.	5 Whoever despises the poor rebukes his Maker. And whoever rejoices in the ruin of another will not go unpunished.
6 Corona dei vecchi, i figli dei figli, e gloria dei figli, i loro padri.	6 Sons of sons are the crown of old age. And the glory of sons is their fathers.
7 Non s'addice all'ignorante un linguaggio ricercato, nè al principe, un labbro mendace.	7 Well-chosen words are not fitting for the foolish, nor are lying lips fitting for a leader.
8 Gemma preziosissima è l'attesa di chi sta in aspettazione, dovunque si volge, si regola con attenzione.	8 The expectation of those who stand ready is a most pleasing jewel. Whichever way he turns himself, he understands prudently.
9 Chi cela il fallo procaccia amicizie e chi lo ridice, separa gli amici.	9 Whoever conceals an offense seeks friendships. Whoever repeats the words of another separates allies.
10 Più giova una correzione al prudente, che cento legnate allo stolto.	10 A correction benefits more with a wise man, than a hundred stripes with a fool.
11 Il malvagio cerca sempre sedizioni, ma un angelo crudele gli sarà inviato contro.	11 The evil one continually seeks conflicts. But a cruel Angel shall be sent against him.
12 Meglio imbattersi in un'orsa derubata de' suoi nati, che nello stolto abbandonato alla sua stoltezza.	12 It is more expedient to meet a bear robbed of her young, than the foolish trusting in his own folly.
13 Chi rende male per bene, non vedrà mai la sventura uscire di casa sua.	13 Whoever repays evil for good, evil shall not withdraw from his house.
14 Quei che dà la stura all'acqua gli è quei che dà principio alla rissa e poi si ritira, prima di soffrire oltraggio.	14 Whoever releases the water is the head of the conflict. And just before he suffers contempt, he abandons judgment.
15 Chi assolve l'empio e chi condanna il giustosono entrambi in abominio a Dio.	15 Those who justify the impious, and those who condemn the just, both are abominable with God.
16 Che giova allo stolto aver ricchezze, se non può comperare la saggezza? Chi innalza la propria casa cerca rovina, e chi ricusa d'imparare cadrà nel male.	16 What does it profit the foolish to have riches, when he is not able to buy wisdom? Whoever makes his house high seeks ruin. And whoever shuns learning shall fall into evils.
17 Chi è amico, ama sempre: e il fratello si esperimenta nelle avversità.	17 Whoever is a friend loves at all times. And a brother is proved by distress.
18 Lo stolto si frega le mani, quando entra mallevadore per l'amico.	18 A foolish man will clap his hands, when he makes a pledge for his friend.
19 Chi medita discordie, ama le risse, e chi alza la porta, cerca rovina.	19 Whoever dwells on discord loves disputes. And whoever exalts his door seeks ruin.
20 Chi è di cuor perverso, non troverà bene e chi ha lingua raggiratrice cadrà nei guai.	20 Whoever is of a perverse heart shall not find good. And whoever turns his tongue shall fall into evil.
21 Nato è lo stolto a sua confusione, e neanche il padre si rallegrerà dello scemo.	21 A foolish one is born into his own disgrace. But his father will not rejoice in one who is senseless.
22 L'animo allegro fa buon sangue e lo spirito triste secca le ossa.	22 A joyful soul makes a lifetime flourish. A gloomy spirit dries out the bones.
23 L'empio riceve doni di sotto mano, per sovvertire le vie della giustizia.	23 The impious receives gifts from the bosom, so that he may pervert the paths of judgment.
24 Sul volto del prudente riluce la sapienza; gli occhi degli stolti errano all'estremità della terra.	24 Prudence shines from the face of the wise. The eyes of the foolish are on the ends of the earth.
25 Figlio stolto cruccio del padre, e dolore della madre che lo generò.	25 A foolish son is the anger of the father and the grief of the mother who conceived him.
26 Non è bene danneggiare il giusto, nè colpire un principe che rettamente giudica.	26 It is not good to inflict damage on the just, nor to strike the leader who judges uprightly.
27 Chi modera i suoi discorsi è saggio ed accorto, e l'uomo che sa è di spirito riserbato.	27 Whoever moderates his words is learned and prudent. And a man of learning has a precious spirit.
28 Anche lo stolto se tacerà sarà creduto saggio, e intelligente, se chiuderà le labbra.	28 If he would remain silent, even the foolish would be considered wise, and if he closes his lips, intelligent.
