Proverbi 11

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - La bilancia falsa è un'abominazione dinanzi al Signore e il peso giusto è di suo gradimento.	1 A false balance is abhorrent to Yahweh, a just weight is pleasing to him.
2 Dove sarà la superbia ivi sarà il disprezzo, e dove è l'umiltà, ivi sta la sapienza.	2 Pride comes first; disgrace soon fol ows; with the humble is wisdom found.
3 La semplicità dei giusti sarà lor guida, e la fraudolenza dei perfidi li rovinerà.	3 The honest have their own honesty for guidance, the treacherous are ruined by their own perfidy.
4 Le ricchezze a nulla giovano nel dì della vendetta, ma la giustizia libererà dalla morte.	4 In the day of retribution riches wil be useless, but uprightness delivers from death.
5 La giustizia del semplice gli appianerà la via, ma l'empio rovinerà nella sua empietà.	5 The uprightness of the good makes their way straight, the wicked fal by their own wickedness.
6 La giustizia dei buoni li salverà, ma gli iniqui, nelle loro stesse insidie saran presi.	6 Their uprightness sets the honest free, the treacherous are imprisoned by their own desires.
7 Morto l'empio, non vi sarà più speranza alcuna, e chi confida nelle proprie sollecitudini resterà deluso.	7 The hope of the wicked perishes with death, hope placed in riches comes to nothing.
8 Il giusto dall'angustia è stato liberato, in sua vece sarà condotto l'empio.	8 The upright escapes affliction, the wicked incurs it instead.
9 Colla bocca l'ipocrita inganna il suo prossimo, ma i giusti dalla loro scienza saran liberati.	9 Through his mouth the godless is the ruin of his neighbour, but by knowledge the upright aresafeguarded.
10 Nella prosperità dei giusti esulterà la città, e alla rovina dei tristi si farà plauso.	10 When the upright prosper the city rejoices, when the wicked are ruined there is a shout of joy.
11 Per la benedizione dei giusti s'esalterà la città, ma per la bocca dei malvagi andrà in rovina.	11 A city is raised on the blessing of the honest, and demolished by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Chi disprezza il suo prossimo è uno scemo, ma il prudente tacerà.	12 Whoever looks down on a neighbour lacks good sense; the intelligent keeps a check on the tongue.
13 Chi procede con frode, svela i segreti, ma chi è d'animo fidato cela le confidenze dell'amico.	13 A tittle-tattler lets secrets out, the trustworthy keeps things hidden.
14 Dove non c'è governo, il popolo andrà in rovina, ma dove abbondano i consigli ivi è salute.	14 For want of leadership a people perishes, safety lies in many advisers.
15 Chi dà cauzione per l'estraneo, incoglierà male, ma chi si guarda da impegni sarà sicuro.	15 Whoever goes bail for a stranger does himself harm, but one who shuns going surety is safe.
16 La donna graziosa troverà gloria, e i laboriosi otterranno ricchezze.	16 A gracious woman acquires honour, violent people acquire wealth.
17 L'uomo di carità la fa a se stesso, ma il crudele misconosce perfino i suoi parenti.	17 Faithful love brings its own reward, the inflexible injure their own selves.
18 L'empio fa un lavoro precario, ma chi semina giustizia, ha mercede sicura.	18 Disappointment crowns the labours of the wicked, whoever sows uprightness reaps a solid reward.
19 La clemenza predispone alla vita e la frequenza del male alla morte.	19 Whoever establishes uprightness is on the way to life, whoever pursues evil, on the way to death.
20 Il cuor doppio è in abominio al Signore e la sua compiacenza è in quelli che camminano con schiettezza.	20 Tortuous hearts are abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him, those whose ways are blameless.
21 Dàgli oggi dàgli domani, il malvagio non andrà impunito, ma il seme dei giusti scamperà.	21 Be sure of it, the wicked wil not go unpunished, but the race of the upright wil come to no harm.
22 Un monile d'oro al naso d'una troia è la bellezza in donna sciocca.	22 A golden ring in the snout of a pig is a lovely woman who lacks discretion.
23 Desio dei giusti - quanto c'è di meglio, aspettazione dei tristi - l'ira.	23 The hope of the upright is nothing but good, the expectation of the wicked is retribution.
24 Altri fan parte del proprio e divengon più ricchi, altri si appropriano l'indebito e son sempre in miseria.	24 One scatters money around, yet only adds to his wealth, another is excessively mean, but only growsthe poorer.
25 L'anima benefica sarà impinguata e chi mesce agli altri, altri rimesceranno a lui.	25 The soul who blesses wil prosper, whoever satisfies others wil also be satisfied.
26 L'incettatore del grano sarà maledetto dalla gente, ma la benedizione sul capo di quei che lo vendono.	26 The people's curse is on those who hoard the wheat, their blessing on the head of those who sel it.
27 Col buon giorno si alza il mattino chi cerca il bene, e chi va inventando dei mali vi cascherà sotto.	27 Whoever strives for good obtains favour, whoever looks for evil wil get an evil return.
28 Chi confida nelle sue ricchezze, cascherà, ma come verdi foglie germoglieranno i giusti.	28 Whoever trusts in riches wil have a fal , the upright wil flourish like the leaves.
29 Chi scompiglia la sua casa, possederà del vento, e chi è stolto servirà al saggio.	29 Whoever misgoverns a house inherits the wind, and the fool becomes slave to the wise.
30 Frutto del giusto è albero della vita, e chi si prende cura delle anime è sapiente.	30 The fruit of the upright is a tree of life: the sage captivates souls.
31 Se il giusto sulla terra riscote, quanto più l'empio e il peccatore?	31 If here on earth the upright gets due reward, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
