1 - Salmo di David, ch'egli cantò al Signore in occasione delle parole di Cusi, beniaminita.	1 A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush a Benjaminite. O LORD my God, in thee do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me,
2 Signore, mio Dio, in te spero: salvami da tutti i miei persecutori e liberami.	2 lest like a lion they rend me, dragging me away, with none to rescue.
3 Sicchè [il nemico] non rapisca, qual bene, l'anima mia, mentre non c'è chi [mi] strappi [dalle sue zanne], nè chi [mi] salvi.	3 O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands,
4 Signore, mio Dio, se ho fatto mai questo [di cui m'accusano], se c' è l'iniquità nelle mie mani,	4 if I have requited my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,
5 se male ho reso a chi m'aveva fatto [del bene], ch'io cada pure, dinanzi a' miei nemici, senza speranza.	5 let the enemy pursue me and overtake me, and let him trample my life to the ground, and lay my soul in the dust. [Selah]
6 Mi perseguiti il nemicoe [mi] faccia sua preda, e calpesti a terra la mia vita, e la mia gloria getti nella polvere.	6 Arise, O LORD, in thy anger, lift thyself up against the fury of my enemies; awake, O my God; thou hast appointed a judgment.
7 Sorgi, o Signore, nell' ira tua, e grandeggia entro i confini de' miei nemici. Sorgi, Signore mio Dio, decreta il giudizio!	7 Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about thee; and over it take thy seat on high.
8 E l'assemblea de' popoli ti circondi, e sopra lei in alto ascendi.	8 The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.
9 Il Signore giudica i popoli! Giudicami, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l' innocenza mia ch'è in me.	9 O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous, thou who triest the minds and hearts, thou righteous God.
10 Cessi la malvagità degli empi, e sorreggi tu il giusto, tu che scruti i cuori e i reni, Iddio	10 My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
11 giusto! Il mio aiuto [vien] dal Signore, che salva i retti di cuore	11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day.
12 Iddio è giudice giusto, forte e paziente: forsechè ogni giorno egli s'adira?	12 If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and strung his bow;
13 Se non vi convertirete, vibrerà la sua spada; ha teso il suo arco e lo tien pronto.	13 he has prepared his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts.
14 E su quello ha preparato strumenti di morte: le sue frecce ha reso [dardi] infocati.	14 Behold, the wicked man conceives evil, and is pregnant with mischief, and brings forth lies.
15 Ecco [il mio nemico] s'affanna a partorir l'ingiustizia: ha concepito sciagura e dà alla luce il peccato!	15 He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole which he has made.
16 Una fossa egli ha aperto e scavato, e precipita nella fossa ch'egli ha fatto!	16 His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own pate his violence descends.
17 Ricade la calamità sul suo capo, e sulla sua testa piomba la sua malvagità.	17 I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.
18 Io celebrerò il Signore per la sua giustizia, inneggerò al nome del Signore, dell'Altissimo.
