1 - Questa è la discendenza d'Esaù, detto Edom.	1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 Esaù prese per mogli, di tra le figlie di Canaan, Ada figlia di Elon heteo, ed Oolibama figlia di Ana figlia di Sebeon heveo,	2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 ed anche Basemat figlia di Ismaele, sorella di Nabaiot.	3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4 Ada partorì Elifaz; Basemat partorì Rauel;	4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau; Basemath bore Reuel;
5 Oolibama partorì Ieus, Ielon e Core. Questi sono i figli d'Esaù, natigli nella terra di Canaan.	5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Prese poi le mogli, i figli, le figlie, tutte le persone di casa sua, gli averi, i greggi, tutto quel che poteva avere nella terra di Canaan, e se n'andò in altra regione, separandosi dal fratello Giacobbe.	6 Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock comprising various animals and all the property he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to the land of Seir, out of the way of his brother Jacob.
7 Perchè erano ricchi molto, e non potevano vivere insieme, nè la terra ove avevano pellegrinato poteva sostentarli, per la gran quantità dei greggi.	7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.
8 Dimorò dunque Esaù sul monte Seir; ed egli è [anche chiamato] Edom.	8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)
9 Queste dunque sono le generazioni d'Esaù padre di Edom nel monte Seir,	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.
10 e questi sono i nomi de' suoi figliuoli; Elifaz figlio di Ada moglie d'Esaù, e Rauel figlio di Basemat altra moglie di lui.	10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.
11 Elifaz ebbe per figli Teman, Omar, Sefo, Gatam e Cenez.	11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Era poi Tamna altra donna di Elifaz figlio di Esaù, e gli partorì Amalec: sono questi i discendenti da Ada moglie di Esaù.	12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
13 Figli poi di Rauel furono Naat, Zara, Samma, e Meza: questi i discendenti da Basemat moglie d'Esaù.	13 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
14 I figli generati ad Esaù dalla moglie Oolibama figlia di Ana figlia di Sebeon, furono Ieus, Ielon e Core.	14 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah--granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon--whom she bore to Esau were Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

34 Morto Iobab, regnò per lui Husam, della terra dei Temaniti.	34 When Jobab died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, succeeded him as king. He defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.
35 Morto anche questi, regnò in suo luogo Adad figlio di Badad, che disfece i Madianiti nella terra di Moab, e la sua città si chiamò Avit.	35 When Husham died, Hadad, son of Bedad, succeeded him as king.
36 Morto Adad, gli successe Semla, da Masreca.	36 When Hadad died, Samlah, from Masrekah, succeeded him as king.
37 Morto anche questi, fu re Saul, dal fiume Roobot.	37 When Samlah died, Shaul, from Rehoboth-on-the-River, succeeded him as king.
