Isaia 60

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 - Sorgi, risplendi, o Gerusalemme, perchè la tua luce è venuta e la gloria del Signore è spuntata sopra di te.	1 Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 Perchè ecco le tenebre copriranno la terra, e l'oscurità i popoli, ma sopra di te risplenderà il Signore, e la sua gloria si vedrà in te.	2 For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 E le genti cammineranno alla tua luce, e i re allo splendore che nascerà da te!	3 And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising.
4 Alza i tuoi sguardi in giro e guarda: tutti costoro si sono raccolti attorno a te, sono a te venuti; i figli tuoi verranno di lontano e le tue figlie da ogni lato sorgeranno.	4 Lift up thy eyes round about, and see: all these are gathered together, they are come to thee: thy sons shah come from afar, and thy daughters shall rise up at thy side.
5 Allora guarderai e per l'affluire della gente, resterà meravigliato e si allargherà il tuo cuore; quando a te si rivolgerà la moltitudine d'oltre mare e la schiera delle genti a te sarà venuta.	5 Then shalt thou see, and abound, and thy heart shall wonder and be enlarged, when the multitude of the sea shall be converted to thee, the. strength of the Gentiles shall come to thee.
6 Un'onda di cammelli ti coprirà, i dromedari di Madian e di Efa; verranno tutti quei di Saba recando oro e incenso e annunziando le lodi del Signore.	6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Madian and Epha: all they from Saba shall come, bringing gold and frankincense: and shewing forth praise to the Lord.
7 Tutto il gregge di Cedar si raccoglierà per te, gli arieti di Nabaiot serviranno al tuo culto, saranno offerti sopra il mio altare propiziatorio, e glorificherò la casa della mia maestà.	7 All the flocks of Cedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nabaioth shall minister to thee: they shall be offered upon my acceptable altar, and I will glorify the house of my majesty.
8 Chi sono costoro che volano come nuvole e come colombe alle loro colombaie?	8 Who are these, that fly as clouds, and as doves to their windows?
9 Le isole aspettano me, e le navi del mare per prime, affinchè io conduca i tuoi figli da lontano, recanti il loro argento e il loro oro pel nome del Signore Dio tuo e pel Santo di Israele, che ti ha fatta gloriosa.	9 For, the islands wait for me, and the ships of the sea in the beginning: that I may bring thy sons from afar: their silver, and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 E i figli degli stranieri edificheranno le tue mura, e i loro re ti serviranno: poichè nel mio sdegno ti ho percossa, e dopo la riconciliazione ti ho colmato di misericordia.	10 And the children of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister to thee: for in my wrath have I struck thee, and in my reconciliation have I had mercy upon thee.
11 E le tue porte saranno sempre aperte, non si chiuderanno nè di giorno nè di notte, affinchè sia condotta a te la schiera delle genti e menati i loro re.	11 And thy gates shall be open continually: they shall not be shut day nor night, that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought to thee, and their kings may be brought.
12 Poichè il popolo e il regno che non serviranno a te periranno: genti che finiranno nella solitudine della devastazione.	12 For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee, shall perish: and the Gentiles shall be wasted with desolation.
13 La gloria del Libano verrà a te, l'abete, il bosso e il pino insieme ad ornare il luogo del mio santuario; e io renderò glorioso il luogo dove posano i miei piedi.	13 The glory of Libanus shall come to thee, the Ar tree, and the box tree, and the pine tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary: and I will glorify the place of my feet.
14 E i figli di coloro che ti umiliarono chini verranno a te e tutti quelli che t'avevano insultato adoreranno le orme dei tuoi piedi e chiameranno te: La Città del Signore, la Sion del Santo d'Israele.	14 And the children of them that afflict thee, shall come bowing down to thee, and all that slandered thee shall worship the steps of thy feet, and shall call thee the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Per ciò che fosti abbandonata e odiata e senza più nessuno che passasse in mezzo a te, io ti collocherò superbo fastigio dei secoli e gaudio di generazioni e generazioni.	15 Because thou wast forsaken, and hated, and there was none that passed through thee, I will make thee to be an everlasting glory, a joy unto generation and generation:
16 Succhierai il latte delle genti e sarai allattata dalle mammelle dei re, e conoscerai chi sono io il Signore, quello che ti salva, e il tuo redentore il possente di Israele.	16 And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and thou shalt be nursed with the breasts of kings: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 Invece del rame ti recherò dell'oro; e in luogo di ferro ti porterò dell'argento; e in cambio di legno, rame; e al posto delle pietre, ferro; e per la tua sorveglianza metterò la pace; e alla tua sopraintendenza la giustizia.	17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver: and for wood brass, and for stones iron: and I will make thy visitation peace, and thy overseers justice.
18 Non si sentirà più parlare di iniquità nella tua terra, nè di devastazione e di sterminio dentro alle tue frontiere: la salute occuperà le tue mura, e la lode le tue porte.	18 Iniquity shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction in thy borders, and salvation shall possess thy walls, and praise thy gates.
19 Non avrai più il sole per farti luce di giorno, nè lume di luna che ti rischiari: ma il Signore ti sarà luce eterna e il tuo Dio sarà per tua gloria.	19 Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory.
20 Il tuo sole non tramonterà, e la tua luna non scemerà; perchè il Signore ti sarà luce eterna e i giorni del tuo lutto saranno finiti.	20 Thy sun shall go down no more, and thy moon shall not decrease: for the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
21 Il tuo popolo sarà tutto di giusti: possederanno la terra per sempre, germi della mia piantagione, opera della mia mano, per mia glorificazione.	21 And thy people shall be all just, they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hand to glorify me.
22 Il minimo crescerà a mille doppi; il piccolo in gente fortissima: Io il Signore, a suo tempo in un momento farò questo.	22 The least shall become a thousand, and a little one a most strong nation: I the Lord will suddenly do this thing in its time.
